Yesterday I deleted X because I felt my mind was being influenced in a weird way.

I've been experimenting with trying to like only positive or feel-good content too.
It hasn't worked. It took around 2 weeks for it to really start working, but it only lasted a few days.
Then I went through and ruthlessly muted any and all words and phrases that I know posts with drama contain.
It relieved 90% of the problem, but I'm still be fed things I wish I didn't see. It's been 2-3 weeks since I did that.
It feels like an uphill battle to get the algorithms to work with you and it doesn't matter which platform I've tried over the years.
I'm starting to wonder if leading people to believe they can influence the algorithm somehow isn't actually true, like an illusion to keep people trying.
When using any algorithm, stay sharp. Focus on what you need to learn, not what they're trying to teach you.
Make learning your North Star, not low gratifications (dopamine).
nostr allows us to create our own algorithms. read, learn, teach and program yourself. adapt when needed. grow.

The point isn't to not have algorithms, it is to have a choice in content discovery, and not having to forcefully engage with whatever is shoved down your throat.
what are some good places to get custom algorithms on nostr? I only know of the 'trending 24h' on iris.to and primal.net. Are there other ones?
on damus i'm forced to see reposts in my general feed of people that i do no follow, no way to turn it off
