I’d guess he’s been reading ‘Inner Excellence’ and it’s great to see.
Scottie gets it. Our purpose here is not anything external, it is only found if you journey inwards.
Most athletes love the anticipation, not the playing. It's the routine of knowing when/where the competion is. The travelling, the competing, not necessarily the winning. The competing is the large part. It's a drug

Good take. I think most athletes if they do the deep self reflection would tell you the most satisfying thing is the journey, not the destination.

Nah. He speaks from a place of quiet peacefulness, after realizing which things are truly important in life

Quite the opposite I’d say
Some of what he says reminds me of what Andre Agassi said in his book "Open" after he won his first major title. I don't remember the exact words but it was something like "a dirty little secret I learned was that losing hurts more than winning feels good."
It's the weird empty feeling one has after having reached something apparently very important: was that all? What now? Pretty humbling to say the least, a reminder, that wherever we're going, we should keep in mind that ordinary life goes on after that.
he hasn't matured yet. he’s a great golfer. the purpose of his work as a high-performance athlete is his audience. his community. his owes it to his people. he didn't understand the most important part of his job.
Hmmm…maybe …but he seems to have a pretty good understanding of life…which will serve him well when the sport of golf discards him, which it will…just ask Jack Nicholaus or tiger woods🤔🤷🏽‍♂️ ….also….i realize it’s prolly easier to be well adjusted and philosophically superior when all your financial and creature needs are secure because of your talent in a sport…but i am an acquaintance of his caddy ted Scott and scheffler it seems is an authentically good dude 🫡🌅

5 minutes after a 10% rip thru open water bitcoin
The difference is, we are all sickos dedicated to this 'professional (intellectual) sport' of Bitcoin, which in contrast, absolutely has a long-lasting point & purpose: A revolution for human civilization to benefit from.
maybe but he's an individualist. he thinks only of himself and his family. and there are many other individuals and families in his audience whom he serves with his work.
Imo: It’s hard to find a truly elite golfer that’s not self centered and an individualist (it helps in tuning out all the psychological punishment of the sport)… there are a few but not many. …as for thinking primarily of himself and particularly his family … some would consider that a noble quality… I imagine being married to most professional golf is at best difficult with the travel and trappings that go along with professional golf Also in a day and age of practiced, prepared and well rehearsed responses “ad lib” responses to reporters (in the name of honoring the sport and fans) it’s nice to hear authentic responses which seem to be more and more rare these days 🤷🏽‍♂️ Just one idgit’s opinion🫡🌅
You have to compete at a high level to grok what he’s saying. He’s spot on. Golf is far more primal than most know. Firing a projectile at a target. This guy channels divinity when he competes. One of the best of all time.

A paradigm shift is happening
GM Plebs 🤙🏼🧡 It’s my belief that professional sports were designed to distract us. A modern “bread & circus” while real life slips by. “Professional sports is just such a weird thing to do. It really is. It doesn’t make any sense.” A strong man on the hunt for a fulfilling life realizing and sharing a powerful message&learning. Weak men laughing in the background. Chasing glory on the field… But what about the victory at home? All I want is to be a legendary dad, living a happy, healthy, present life. Fiat pulled me away from that fulfilling path. Bitcoin helped me reclaim it. Thank you Satoshi. Enjoy a satisfying life, legends.🫡🧡 Timestamp of freedom 905,823 View quoted note →
I've literally always known this. I am the astronaut with the gun in this case lol! Far far far better to have a whole life constructed around yourself being productive at doing things you love with people you love, than to chase any arbitrary markers other people use for success.
It's all about the journey and not the result. We don't want to get to death as fast as we can, we want to enjoy life before we get there.
