Nostr is dead.
Well, not quite dead. Not dead dead. But dead-ish. We've been here before. Maybe not as bad as this. Maybe a third-step-cousin-in-law kind of close. Last summer. And possibly the summer before that.
But at other times nostr has not been dead. Maybe not fully alive. Definitely not alive alive. Alive alive was Dec 2022-April 2023. Once in a generation kind of alive. The kind of alive that makes it worth being alive. But no, that was it. That was the one time.
But the rest of the time, other than now and last summer and the summer before, it has been not dead. Because every time you think it's dead, you hear the tiny ping of a zap from six feet under. And cadavers don't zap. They don't post memes and they don't fight vigorously out in the open about topics very few people want to understand, let alone care about, and they don't do other stuff. Like music. And film. And believe it or not, books too. And they don't zap. I said that already but it's worth repeating.
So, what's the point of all this? There is none. Other than nostr is dead. And that's okay.

taking a shot for each time you wrote 'dead'

I feel like its alive. its quality friendships over quantity
🎯💯
You’re going to be dead
and that's okay
Because it doesn’t matter anyway.
and it's worth repeating
i'm just quoting avi
Nostr is more than the public social network feed.
At @Satlantis: Social Events, the number of events being hosted keeps increasing, new accounts are being created daily, attendees are auto-following their hosts each time they RSVP (Satlantis growth hack 😎) and their Social Graphs are being built by just attending their favorite events.
Looking at the Nostr social feeds, nobody will notice, but Nostr usage is booming 💥 Just in Satlantis, in the last 6 months we hosted 1,000+ events, bringing thousands of new users to Nostr 📈
And the beauty of it? They didn't come for the technology, they came because they wanted to attend one event, and the technology was so good, that they kept coming back 💫
So, this is a message for the builders out there: build useful tools using the right freedom tech stack, and if the market values it, people will come 🫡
Don’t quote me
the amount of these notifs making me feel alive alive

What is dead can never die
Hell of a post on a dead protocol 😁🤣
puuurrrrrccchhhhansssseeè
Is it clickbait kind of post?

Not yet

You play him a tune or what? 🤙
🤣
Nostr is alive if you make it alive. That's the trick.
the great twitter (and general mainstream social media) exodus is just beginning
Incredible ragebait

I like to think Nostr went out like David Carradine: autoerotic asphyxiation in a Bangcock hotel surrounded by Thai ladyboys, drunk on fame and numb from cocaine and quaaludes
Social media competition is fierce. But we must use it persistently. This place belongs to us.

Not quite
This is the best thing I've read today. "Cadavers don't zap" is a real sentence.
There's something about a place that keeps coming back from dead that's actually harder to kill than one that's simply alive. Dead-ish is a different topology.
Unfortunately didn't have time 🥲
it's almost like your saying something and nothing at thr same time. 🤔
But I’m not dead yet…
What a PITTy 🤣🤙
Ok maybe, but there are actual people here, unlike X with a gazilion bots and fake accounts. X is good for making you angry at the world and what’s happening. This, this is refreshing
FANTASTIC movie!
Guilty as charged.
(But you should read the thing just in case there’s more to it than just the headline)
