If I had to choose a legacy religious tradition’s label, I would choose Christian, but not modern exoteric Christianity. It would be paleo-Christianity…OG Christianity. The reason for that choice is because Christ wasn’t just educated by the Essenes who were awesome. He was educated by the Egyptians, Druids, Hindus, and Buddhists. He was a perennialist who literally walked the walk. Imagine how much harder it was to go learn from all those sages and gurus and masters back in the day! Without something like the golden rule, the belief would not propagate to the next generation. There is probably a minimal set of beliefs necessary for propagation through time/generations.

If they offer you something to eat or drink, it is something that they know you enjoy and/or need and that you are likely to accept. They do not lie to you, and they allow you to be who you are without wearing any metaphorical personality masks. They do this with no expectations of you. Scenario B: Person X, when interacting with you, treats you like a bar code, like a serial number, like you're fungible with any other person. They ask you questions that, in the asking, betray that they haven't cared to remember the first thing about you that makes you you. They talk about whatever they want to talk about with you and don't care to engage you in conversation about things you care about or find interesting. If they offer you something to eat or drink, it is more likely that it is something that they have but don't want to keep. It may even be something that you dislike or something to which you're allergic. They are willing to lie to you in order to manipulate you into doing what they want you to do or into being the way they want you to be because that suits them. They do this with expectations of you. In one of these two scenarios, you feel seen and loved. In the other, you do not feel seen or loved. The Golden Rule exists because it is the best, most succinct way to practice unconditional love, clear communication (honesty), and surrender to the machinations of the universe/God and to the free will of others. Those happen to be the lessons that are necessary to be learned in order to activate the dormant higher chakras, achieve enlightenment, earn the "halo", and punch your ticket to the next grade of universal spirit school. People don't like being treated as fungible. People don't like being lied to or misinformed as bad information renders us less capable of navigating the obstacles of life. People don't like being manipulated and having their free will infringed upon. The Golden Rule is the TLDR of religion. It is the road map to enlightenment in succinct enough form that even people with the attention span of hummingbirds drunk on Mountain Dew with TikTok attention spans can intake.
