There are adapters you can use 3.5 to usb-c + extra usb-c for charging! unfortunately, the quality often leaves a lot to be desired.
there are some good models but they are a bit more expensive!
Not really dangerous unless you use really cheap cables, but sometimes you think the cable will do something, but it doesn't support it. Like fast data transfer, 4K video, charging 100W...
Part of the USB C standard is the plug being weaker than the outlet so the cable breaks more easily than breaking the device it's plugged into.
3.5mm cables with weak fragile plugs can be made too
