Who's vibe coding the next GRWM RushTok app?

@primal had a nice initiative where they handed out nicely designed paper cards, each loaded with 2,100 sats, and an intro to Nostr, at BTC Prague (and maybe other events). Something like that might be a way to get Nostr out there.
I don't mind more boomers tbh, just not any more Bitcointwitter2 vibes.
Anything else lol. ππππ
That's bitch@
Bitch@ could be a gateway to nostr tho
Totally agree and I'm probably one of those boomers. I want a healthy mix to grow freedom tech.
They only market to Bitcointwitter, primal is part of the problem imo
That was just an example of the marketing strategy, an inspiration for other projects that wish to promote Nostr in specific communities like college campuses.
I think they are not an example to follow tbh. I don't think this marketing bribery strategy would work outside of Bitcoinery circles, I'm not even sure it works all that well inside these circles either. And worst case scenario is it actually works and cements nostr as being an irrelevant bitcointwitter2 silo
A lot of people not interested already in Bitcoin consider it "crypto scam" and it works as a deterrent, not something to attract them.
:) Are there any ideas or ways to tell people about Nostr that you like?
I think you probably need a budget, reaching out to pro-bitcoin people but who are outside of the bitcointwitter-only bubble, people with actual reach and followers know for Other Topics predominantly. These people do exist, they have shows and whatnot, they can be convinced to or be sponsored.
In a more organic way tho, I think bitch@ may potentially bring people in. People in bitch@ meshes forming communities/forums utilising a nostr client which facilitates that.
I can see that happening.
Or a client that is a nostr client, people may not even know it's a nostr client. It has a large enough group of people interested. #alexandria for eg.
I literally know nothing..but I'm hopeful lol. I just don't think there's much hope in the bitcointwitter2 strategy.
Nostr Ambassador for to from Kenya π°πͺ approves this message π
I believe Nostr will find its way to the right people, maybe through channels that will be surprising to us.. maybe some celebrity will fire it up or something π

Possibly. Some sort of organic interest (which is not necessarily distinct to a celebrity endorsed interest) is possible and would have stronger retention. We've already seen some 'celebrity' waves of people turn up and swiftly leave lol
Maybe we can point them to a nostr-based Slack/Discord alternative that they can use for team-based assignments.
When I was in college I project managed a student group that focuses on OS rocket and satellite designs. We didn't initially get funding from the school. We started out using Slack but for a while switched to Zulip as a free alternative that doesn't delete old messages.
@Ella Hough is on it π

Yo π«‘
I was thinking about coding one (hell, maybe even vibe-code one?) after my exams, still have two in the upcoming weeks but afterwards it's a challenge I'd like to face
Too bad itβs summer vacation
That would actually be a really good idea I think π€
Maybe even without the sats, I mean zapping seems fun, but I don't think it's absolutely necessary tbh
nostr isn't peer-to-peer, it's unc-to-unc
Agree, what bridge are me missing on #nostr that could be luring college students to cross over? β¨π§±π€

What are you talking about? (Me π΄)

Boomer tells Zoomer what tech to use
Sick one bro
I guess mature millennials are the new boomers π€·π»
Why would anyone go to college? Academia is dying a slow & undignified death
π
I thought college campuses were full of conformist anti freedom tech folks?
This is the way.
Iβm at university and basically only use nostr finding it hard to onboard non bitcoiners though
yes
bitchat could be big on campuses, and be a gateway drug for nostr
We just have to be here when that happens π«‘
Ya
Great idea!!!
The zoomer generation is trapped in the Apple and iOS universe. It's the biggest proprietary digital prison you can imagine. With the zoomer, we have a generation where technical skills are declining. They can't program in C or Assembler. You can shut down the Bitcoin app with a click of the mouse, and the zoomer are powerless.

You mean Gen X, following the Baby Boomers and preceding Millennials, the best generation that brought internet to everybody.
I am giving away 20 Euro every month to people who never used bitcoin, each 5 Euro.
If half humanity is into bitcoin I continue with 20 Euro per month for opening their first nostr account, again 5 Euro each, this time zaps.
For me this is better than donating to Amnesty or Greenpeace or something like that.
But there is one thing i can not figure out: what is the incentive structure for using nostr for normal people. Maybe in a few yesrs nostr will develope and i can create messenger texting with individuals and maybe also in groups
This would be really cool!
How would one get a paid to go around and talk about nostr and bitcoin? Is anyone doing that? Does anyone else think about that?
those are millenials, they are old but cant figure it out
They barely know Bitcoin...
Looking at the issue of the adoption of blockchain based technologies from a generational perspective is flawed.
Few millennials have a longer term financial perspective, even fewer have ideas about the potential impact of these technologies on their future daily lives. But this is not a feature specific to this cohort alone.
Most people, whatever their age, are only interested in stability, quick gains and comfort.
Neither NOSTR or bitcoin offer an adequate response to these expectations.
I presented on it once at a Young Americans for Liberty meeting at UC Riverside once. Unfortunately there wasnβt much interest. I probably didnβt do the best job pitching it, but it was still interesting that what I thought would be the target audience didnβt want it
IMO colleges and campuses are the places where students live that are overseen by a centralized system. So they like centralization. I think there is a high risk of them not being interested in Nostr because they like if someone oversees and controls them. It's according to Sri Lanka. But the effort is always good. :-)
We need everyone controlled by centralized schools that want to self study, make aware of open free resources of Nostr
