The HBO documentary series about Burning Man called The Man Must Burn is pretty good and has more “drama” than I expected.
Wizard of Oz with new perspective. Baum wrote this as a monetary fable before anyone dressed it up for children. A century later it still fits. Dorothy’s the public, pointed down the gold road while the silver slippers sit on her own feet the whole time. Toto’s whoever keeps asking questions nobody wants asked. Scarecrow’s the farmer, called brainless while he’s the one growing something real. Tin Man’s the worker, rusted stiff the second the machine stops needing him. Cowardly Lion’s the politician. Big roar, no bite. Emerald City’s the capital, green because they made you put the glasses on at the gate. Wizard’s the small man running the big machine, voice projected ten times his size. Witch owns the resource nobody else can touch and has been collecting since before Dorothy landed.
When’s the last time you watched Titanic? We watched it a couple weeks ago and I enjoyed it immensely. Also introduced the kiddos to the masterpiece that is the Princess Bride. Inconceivable!
