Being a leader is a pain in the ass.
Most people are content not moving. ever. They want things to be easy. They want to do the same thing every day.
Being a leader means you have a vision and have to convince people to follow it. They will up to a certain point. Then they try very hard to get complacent again. This is a conscious decision based on the fact that most people don't have much stamina.
So being a leader means you have to have exponentially more energy than the rest and the courage to project it towards your goals.
The best leaders are the ones who least want the position.

I see leadership as helping those I lead become the best version of themselves.
But that’s hard—really hard—especially in a culture that elevates leaders to guru or god-like status.
