Graduation ceremonies from college should be eliminated. Sorry but you haven’t done anything yet. 🤷‍♂️

Graduating college is not an accomplishment. Congrats, you finished 4 years of being a selfish consumer. You’ve still accomplished nothing.

I’ve found that habitualizing a healthy process and basically ignoring it works better than ‘embracing the process.’

I spent 12 hours reading and pondering over a (very well-written) biography on Harry Truman. At the end of it, I formed my own opinion that Harry was ultimately a narcissist, and that drove many of his opinions and decisions. I then used AI to see if it could confirm this idea. Short story, I came to the completely wrong conclusion, and was incredibly humbled by the real, data-based, sound logic argument presented to the contrary (in about 20 seconds). We live in unbelievable times.

Most academics search for and cherry-pick the data supporting the truth they want to believe. You can’t desire truth into reality.

Reminder: Every day you’re alive is an INCREDIBLY special occasion. “If winning the Powerball is like picking the one correct ticket from a pile the size of a large building, the emergence of life is like picking the one correct ticket from a pile the size of the observable universe, repeated billions of times.”

Everyone should study heuristics to be able to better account for them. Mental shortcuts are terrible for long-term strategy decisions, and usually negatively impact rapid, tactical decision making.

Deep thoughts with Rob: Truth, though absolute, can often be unsettling in its implications. For this, many people have zero desire to discern reality in the context of what is obviously true. And for this, it’s even more important to weigh the above implications by conscience/morality rooted in experience, studying of history, and disciplined empathy.

Understanding ₿ is empirically proportional to testosterone levels and general manliness. Most women and effeminate men just don’t get it / don’t care. Obvious exceptions exist, but as a general rule, it’s become shockingly evident.

Only AI will be able to parse through the opinions of millions in search of truth and reality, and only if such AI is in itself, impartial and unprejudiced will it succeed. What we do with that truth will define the rest of history.

“For who could deny, now that the greatness of Rome’s empire enables opposite ends of the globe to communicate with one another, that life is improved by the interchange of commodities, by a partnership in the blessings of peace, and by general availability of things previously kept concealed from us?” -Gaius Plinius Secundus
