It’s a bitcoin signing device (aka hardware wallet) that can be built with off the shelf parts. (RasPi board, camera and off the shelf screen/head unit. Perks being don’t have to doxx yourself to a bitcoin company to buy the parts. This metal version is just a special case that MoneroTime on twitter is making.
Great device but too delicate, that unit won’t survive even casual travel. Buttons need to be flush with casing… useless to anyone who is on the move, unfortunately
I think you need to try it out before drawing conclusions about the fragility of the buttons position, the buttons are robust and the height of the buttons greatly improves the user experience according to my tests :)
Put it in a soft protective case when you travel, and I guarantee it'll be perfectly safe.
@John James I personally don’t see this being a issue as it’s solid…. but….. @fk2bit have you thought about doing a silicone case like the flipper zero?
Thanks for the feedback… I am traveling often with little space in my bag & my previous 2 SeedSigners were protected as best I could, but still destroyed them both (just too much movements/manhandling for the traditional case I think)... The aluminum seems like a huge upgrade but I’m still leery about exposed buttons
