Wrong conclusion. Will has been consistent in criticizing things that weaken his chance to get a grant, such as honest criticisms over cashu fad. Its very precarious keeping these grants, much of it involves staying in favor with the clique, which it really shouldnt. Look at nvks threat. IF Will compromised his integrity he would still have a grant. THATS the problem. OS should have no bearing on direction of bitcoin only nostr. Just fund well used projects that people use. Fixes are possible, Will is very much not alone in his concerns over OS.

I quickly got pushed out of that clique too after i started to talk negatively about cashu. Good riddance. It’s some sort of weird odell/jack worship cult where if you never say anything bad against the core clique you will be showered in riches and influence and lavish events. I feel like they only brought me into the fold temporarily because jack liked damus for a short period of time. Its all about money though, its gross and im happy to be out
Calle didnt give one crap about nostr until Jack got involved and there was money to chase. True story. He "worked" for lnbits at the time and I tried many a time to get him working on nostr things. These people are sycophants. It is gross. I feel sorry for Jack, folks like nvk/calle are so very charming to people they can grift.
Thanks for chiming in. Is maybe the lack of mature constructive criticism that could be at the root that may be more productive than whatever Will's honest criticism has been? Sometimes the delivery method matters? I am probing. I have no idea what the ins and outs of the true dynamics behind the scenes are. Happy to get a glimpse though and generally have felt the "exclusivity" stinge. But also seems that OS funding other foundations type orgs could be helping to solve that centralized clique issue? Which is what I have paid attention to as that's been in consideration for how I might contribute in exchange of grants if I were to stay in this space.
There just needs to be more transparency in OS applications, some sort of appeal process, better comms with applicants, no conflicting interests for board members. It being a blackbox is ripe for corruption, or speculation of corruption. Believe it or not i would like OS to endure, but reform is needed, evident by people getting concerned. Its something of an outpouring because when receiving a grant its hard to criticize, especially if your project really needs the resources.
Lots. Going into will make this thread never end. Those creating hysteria have always been well aware of its limitations. Fun compsci, doesnt justify the vast amounts poured into it.
This doesn't seem like much of a conspiracy Some people are donating *their own money* to freedom tech in a way that you think is non-optimal So what?
Ewww. Gross words from a gross soulless human. I was very supportive of cashu, shilling you and cashu to McCormack, paying for you to work on cashu, then you completely stopped working on lnbits, even though you were being paid, and knowing how limited our funds were. I told you multiple times to go work on cashu once you received a grant, wishing you all the best, but you wouldn't leave, just strung me along to get funds. You were paid more than anyone, yet exploited the funds and good will.
Classic calle, shows his true self then deletes the post. During his time at lnbits I was very supportive of cashu, we invested a bunch of resources into it, and paid calle for a good time to work on it, i got him on "what bitcoin did" to shill cashu. He then started to take advantage, knowing how limited our funds were he stopped working on lnbits entirely. I encouraged him to leave and work on cashu once he had a grant but he chose to string me along to get paid. Nutstash was chopped up lnbits, commit history deleted - actually a breach in MIT licensing. Not a nice fella. Too busy to care for filth he spouts and deletes. image
