That's not the behaviour of someone with a clear conscience
@N is a cunt. A dog cunt. Sue him.
in marketing we call it wiping your ass.
Not a good look for sure. He is killing any good faith the brand may still have.
Q does foundation support other entropy inputs such as dice if user wants it in addition to your multi layer RNG approach?
orob trying to erase anything that wouldn't look great in front of a judge
You can pull random seed words and have the device generate the final 12th or 24th word.
I believe Zach committed publicly to adding dice roll entropy yesterday too.
good
Surely there are trivial resources that keep a "time machine" of X posts?
Plenty of people have plenty of receipts
Anything said on "x"itter is never really gone. Discovery will get the lawyers what they need from "x"itter servers.
Does
@N not realize that Xitter still maintains a complete history of all deleted posts which can still be subjected to a legal subpoena?
This is the behavior of someone who is planning to flee the country before the cops show up at his house with guns drawn.
Terrible look
Way Back Machine?
Lawsuits will recovered all the posts he deleted so don't bother.
What else is he hidding

Vile
In 2025 he took active steps to erase him image from the internet.
Foreshadowing what was coming? Or coincidental? This after a decade of having a public persona.
In this space, not a lot seems a coincidence.
If CoinKite does not go out of business following this massive fuck-up, I'd say nothing wrong in this world would be ever corrected.

This is such a pro-forma crisis response move that I wouldn't be surprised if this *was* the advice of lawyers and/or crisis PR teams.
It's also so useless. What's the point, people will just find it anyway?
Yeap..
The documentary/movie about this story will be great indeed.
What's he look like? I always imagined some smug giggling monkey when I heard him on pods.
The shitshow has begun, brought to you by our good friends at Coinkite. My nightmare wallet.

Hilarious.
Yup
public post is contraindicated by privacy preserving
I think his public actions and words over the past few years speak for themself. This is exactly as would be expected from him.
Sincere concern, but please make sure you keep focus on your own devices as well. Your RNG might also be exploited in the future. You don’t even offer your users an option to use their own entropy, after multiple requests by your end consumers. Instead you focused on software wallets, which removes focus on your core product. Besides you now have a complete shitcoin HWW with bluetooth. Disaster waiting to happen imho. Anyways, instead of only dunking on
@N /
@Coinkite , improve your own products.
It's one thing if someone screenshots a post or something like that, but having all of your posts permanently archived by an entity you didn't give that permission to is a bit much.
look, I don't disagree that privacy is ultra valuable and important.
and I also think sharing anything on the internet is equivalent to spray painting on a busy sidewalk. It's literally public.
privacy lost thru healthcare or banking providers via heinous ToS contracts is the sort of thing that gets under my skin.
logs of public chats should be expected
I don't agree, for the same reason I disagree with the people here on Nostr who say people shouldn't be allowed to edit or delete their notes. It may be a public space but it's still your data. If you feel like erasing it, you should be permitted to do so without having to go on a legal campaign.
Me thinks there is a potential major class-action lawsuit in the works, but does Coldcard have enough Bitcoin to pay back for legal fees and reimbursements?
So glad I faded the noise and got some foundation products

Par for the NVK course.
"your data"???
its on my device, I paid to transfer it here, i bought the device I'm using to render it.
if it's a secret, you better not share it. meanwhile, you have BROADCAST IT TO MULTIPLE SERVERS.
your data... lol.
If you understand this article you’ll never buy a coldcard again. It reads like they had people that were just blindly trying to make the code compile, maybe under pressure to rush a product out. It is incomprehensible.

When random.bytes() runs but doesn't work
What a commit message tells us about the recent COLDCARD bug
pride goes before the criminal negligence lawsuits
Dusty is the man and he lays out the case beautifully- fuck it’s brutal!
It needs to be brutal.
Great article and what we expected base on what we saw the past days- a total lack of competence.
runs
Can I continue to use the mk4 except using the RNG?
This mentality is pretty much the same thing that's wrong with modern society.
Theoretically yes if you UPDATE the firmware AND generate a brand NEW seed. That engineering culture is very concerning though.
please feel free to tell me where I have gone wrong
and how some other version of worldview could be possible, given the nature of how the internet works
