Since we don't have feed algorithms to bring content forward and our community is relatively small compared to other major social platforms, it's best to follow a lot of npubs. When I say a lot, I mean a lot. If you're only following a couple hundred people here, you're going to think Nostr is a ghost town.

I see that you are following 1300 npubs πŸ˜ƒ Do you know if there is a way, in Amethyst or any other Nostr app, to automatically start following everyone who someone else is following? Like, if I wanted to copy your following list...

You will think it’s a ghost town, because it is…compared to the others. No hiding there.
Agreed. You need to follow many at first. -What should be deprived must first be enriched. [Tao Te Ching chapter 36]

I'm not really interested in 100 bitcoiners vs 1000 bitcoiners all from western backgrounds. What potentially makes Nostr powerful is the ability to integrate me into communities I otherwise would be excluded from due to cultural differences and language barriers. That is the shift in human interaction that can lead to an exponential growth in innovation. I should see all messages in my native language preference and translate back to original format if ever required. I don't just want to scale more of the same I'm hunting for an intellectual and cultural melting pot.
i like this, translation is one of the simplest things LLMs can do and i'd damn well subscribe to read them, like yesterday!

Yep, discovery is an issue. I’ve mostly found people through hashtags

Can confirm, I only follow a handful and this is the case. I'm starting over from 0 though. My old key I had more.
I’m sure the algorithms will improve, if you give the user what they want to consume, you already earn a lot.
I got Alby extension to work on mobile on Firefox. I even sent some sats to Alby wallet and sent some zaps from it via Primal and Snort via Alby extension. That worked. It's actually incredible to see how I can use the same identity in different apps. I logged in to Listr using Alby. Another success. But I don't know how to copy someone's list still... I tried, I found Derek, but I don't know how to copy his list...
You can also create a list of creators on a particular theme and view that instead of all follows. In case you want to have a little more control. I did this recently with Listr and Amethyst to view. No sure all clients allow this. #nostrtip #protip
Agree, but how do you balance making it not feel like a ghost town and also making it interesting content.
