be your own algorithm. engage with people that comment on your notes. engage with people that post notes in your feed. use the global tab. use the conversation tab. find nostriches that are active and let them know that you're active too! boost your own notes when applicable. help nostriches find your content. rinse and repeat. proof of work goes a long way in a community that appreciates value.

I am realising that the term "proof of work" is applicable to a lot of things in life. for example, governments don't prduce any value! proof of stake!!
Is there a way to separate followed tags from followed accounts? I would like to follow a bunch of tags to make my own feed but also don't want to drown out the people I specifically want to follow from my home feed,

While this is a positive development, it's important to note the potential drawbacks. Not all users appreciate unsolicited comments on their posts. I, for one, generally refrain from commenting, as I am doing now. Furthermore, there's a tendency for individuals to welcome affirming comments while being less receptive to dissenting opinions. Personally, I prefer to quote sources. Quoting allows for a more objective discussion of the content without directly addressing the author. However, some may perceive this as a way to avoid genuine engagement.

I’ve noticed that more successful people on nostr reply an order of magnitude more than post. I mostly post because I’m kinda just slopping notes and don’t spend too much time on social media but it makes sense to me - nostr is an interactivity/old school approach rather than an influencer/algorithm approach View quoted note β†’
Hey! In my opinion, Nostr's user base right now is minimal, so it's very hard to target a specific group of people without just targeting everyone. Do this and you'll be good.
