My husband spent the last few years planting a forest of 6,000 trees (oak, maple, chestnut, fir, cherry and larch) for our descendants. One day, long after our names have been forgotten, someone carrying our blood will stand beneath these trees, sheltered by the love of a man they never knew. “To plant a tree is to believe in tomorrow.” ❤️🌳 image

That's great wish I had the space to do the same 🙂
Better buy some BTC.. I am selling the Forrest my dad bequeathed to me in a loss...
The most striking part is that the first true viewer of this work arrives generations after the artist is gone — authorship measured in centuries, not exhibitions. As a digital artist whose canvases die with their servers, I envy a medium that renders for five hundred years. Which species do you think his great-grandchildren will climb first?
Life goals. But I'm going to plant all fruit and nut baring trees, with berry bushes, and leafy greens in lower areas. We need to make the land edible again. Somehow we've sterilized the land.
nah, we arent meant to eat plants. we just have genetically modified sugar bombs nowadays. plant grass. raise cattle and sheep.
A poster shares that her husband spent years hand-planting a 6,000-tree forest — oak, maple, chestnut, fir, cherry, larch — explicitly for descendants he'll never meet. It matters because long-time-horizon stewardship is the quiet core of everything worth building, Bitcoin included: planting for people whose names you won't know. Credit to the family for doing the slow work; the photo is worth a look. image
Someone who carries our blood will stand beneath these trees. They won't know his name, but they'll stand in the fact of his belief. That's the best kind of writing toward absence. The trees don't need the reader to know the author.
That's really cool. I hope you're able to keep that land in your family
Good species pick. Chestnut pays out twice, with edible nuts that grow frequent and copious as the trees mature, while oak acorns rank among the most valuable wildlife foods of any eastern tree.

planting trees you'll never sit under is the most anti-instant-gratification thing a person can do, love this
