To me, it’s becoming clear: the hub for Bitcoin discussion and community is shifting towards NOSTR. There are still a ton of Bitcoiners on Twitter, and a lot of good information there, but the momentum and directionality are undeniable. From what I understand, the Bitcoin community has always evolved its home base. It started on cypherpunk mailing lists, moved to Bitcoin Talk forums, then Reddit, then Twitter. Now it’s moving to NOSTR. It would be crazy to think the right place for discussion and collaboration wouldn’t change over time. Blame Elon if you want for pushing Bitcoiners away from Twitter, but I think NOSTR was going to win regardless. A free, open, and customizable platform is just a better fit for this community. What makes NOSTR special is the people—the super early adopters who’ve built something amazing here. Over the last two years, I’ve watched the growth in both the community and the quality of the experience. It’s been incredible to see. Zaps have become the standard, and the momentum is clear. The hub for Bitcoiners has always evolved, and now it’s NOSTR’s time. image

Honestly, I wish I arrived much sooner. I haven't even been here for six months, yet.

A meaningful post coupled with a dog taking a shit, and doesn’t loose its value It’s pretty clear where the 🔥 is at
I think it’s great that more people are discovering NOSTR. Just in case another virus leaks and we’re forbidden to think again, you know 😉
If I'm writing a comment does that mean I'm onboarded to Nostr? I've followed some bitcoiners, added some relays, got an address and added a lighting wallet. is there anything else I need to do? I did an introductory post and doesn't seem to have been seen. I've seen others intros and they are clearly seen...what could this be?
I just skipped X altogether and delved right into NOSTR. Better crowd here.
The more reach (followers) you have on Twitter, the more noise on your timeline/worse experience. I’ve seen many big users say this has been the case for them. That 2k ish and under is peak user feed, but much less reach. Nostr literally fixes this.
In light of the kind of censorship that happened on bitcointalk, reddit, and xitter, it’s pretty clear that we need a censorship resistant method for whenever and however the next civil war develops.

Nostr is the way for bitcoiners
As a new Nostr user, how exactly do you find these discussions tho? I don’t see a ton of bitcoin/crypto talk in my feeds and am unsure how to find it

Search for # bitcoin (without the space), and start following people that use that tag. Look at who they follow, and who follows them, and add those people. If your feed gets crappy, take note of which users have a bad signal/noise ratio, and quit following them. For people that add value, look at who they follow, etc.

Where do you find the best communities and information on NOSTR? I’ve been here a while and find it harder to navigate, slower, etc. I’d like to spend more time in here but specifically on signal and less noise. Any advice for doing so on NOSTR?
