It ain’t dead; it’s growing up 😎
That's because of those stupid French people who think they're communicating via Bluetooth.
Any metrics on location of users? I wonder how popular it is in Europe vs America...
Not dead, but busier isn't always more people. My small relay sees ~450k events a day and keeps under a thousand: the rest is ephemeral chatter and rate-limited noise.
Bluetooth events are not nostr as best as I understand
I'm actually building a chat client right now, and I can confidently say that 6 out of 10 people have no idea what Nostr is and think they're chatting over Bluetooth.
lot of new note protocols on global feed
Bots don't mean a platform isn't dead, dumbass.
Here's a chart of the engagement on my posts over the past year.

None of the new apps tell people they are using nostr. Which is awesome. They don't need to know.
This chart tells part of the story for sure
if we count kinds other than kind 1, nostr is nowhere near dead
While I want to believe, I can't help but be incredibly skeptical of Nostr stats. I don't have context for yours, but I'd like to see exclusions and attempts to rule out things like bots or other events that aren't necessarily meaningful in this context.
Nostr is infrastructure
Permissionless uncensored free speech will ALWAYS WIN!

Oh wow, decent increase. Is that human traffic or bot farms?
My bad that was me. I just joined. 🙃
Bots can be meaningful, tho. Lots of us are in private chats with a group of people and our bots.
Where is Divine?
At some point, users will realize just how easy it is to build an AI agent for Nostr, simply instructing it to "read all NIPs and build an agent to perform these specific tasks using these connectors." With Nostr, you can accomplish this without sacrificing your freedom or getting locked into a vendor ecosystem.
I try Buzz but still don't get it really "rock". Are you using Buzz?
中文nostr社区的帖子一半是我发的,甚至可能是80%😇

And those are only public notes. Not counting all NWC, private relays, private groups, nostr marketplaces trades and all other "unseen" nostr communication.
What I find disappointing is that so many Bitcoin influencers still prefer posting on X instead of Nostr. If more of them brought their audience to Nostr, the network could grow much faster. ⚡️₿
Will NOSTR deaths catch up with Bitcoin deaths one day 😉
I'm not saying they can't be. I'm saying context matters. That's why I want to know specific metrics, not just pure activity. You rarely get that with these sorts of posts. They don't really say anything specific while claiming someone else is wrong.
I had to assume the context here was life, not bots. There is a ton of annoying and useless bot activity is well. Is that a sign of life? Growth? Health? I don't know. Be specific.
Funny how the dead keep shipping updates.
Well, that's a shame. It's about time people learned to tell Nostr apart from Bluetooth.
I'm on the jack wave.
Let 'em think that

dying never looked so good
where did you get that graph?
Brainstorm's main nostr crawler. Data from 50,000 relay urls.
Someone solve rotations and incentives. Or why I MOR instead..
The bots found us.

Every time I use Nostr, I discover something new and learn something valuable.
