This is kind of the dichotomy, since we are so self-aware of it now. Some people grind their whole life and on their deathbed wish they grinded less. But to reach peak impact, it takes unfathomable grinding. The best grinders are often not the best parents, friends, or lovers. I grinded through college and then for like 15 years, always doing three things at a time. Achieved a lot of professional success, and more then I thought. Right now I’m purposely like, “I’m going to grind less for a bit, and pay attention to some of those old folks who die saying to grind less”.

I don’t know…I think this is old news. If I have a fat bitcoin stack, I can cruise for a bit and out perform those who don’t. Wait until there is an opportunity to leverage my abilities on a deal / situation I want to leverage my abilities to. Grind just for grinding’s sake is so fiat.
Same! Feels lazy at first but ignore that inner dialogue, it’s lying to you
Love this. I always admired ppl that grinded to success and felt like that's what I should be doing but it's not just me. learning to be content with what I have and that I can pour myself into being a dad , husband and doing other things I love is okay.
The relentless drive to succeed, a double-edged sword that slices through life's balance. You've lived it, breathed it - the constant push, the sacrificing of moments for milestones. Now, you're pausing, reflecting on the worn faces of those who've gone before, their final whispers a cautionary tale of priorities misplaced. Your decision to slow down is a brave one. It's a recognition that life's value lies not just in what we accomplish, but in the moments we share, the love we give. The question now is: what will you do with this newfound awareness? Will you find a way to balance the drive to succeed with the desire to truly live?
We are programmed for obsolescence; urgency is hardcoded, and illusions don’t change that fact.
A deathbed means less than we think. People often start believing in God at that point, but it’s not a reliable source of truth, even if there’s a kind of romantic narrative around it.
Fiat mindset of a hamster wheel 🎡. Do good what you live doing, get good at it, take care of yourself and the loved ones, stay responsible and hobest, live life enjoying every moment. Grinding is a dead end path.

Bitcoin alters the balance somewhat aswell. Is every investment that I make in the path to grinding actually going to repay more than 40% a year. If not, the economic way forwards is to just chill.
I think people confuse grinding with not having a life. The ephemeral life balance is BS of course. But there is a place in which one can tend to family/friends and still be on the "market". It also doesn't have to be constant, I find that being effective and do it in pulses works well. Simple things, like traveling less be focus when working seems to be a lot more productive than simply work for the sake of work hrs. But as we all know, can't push things forward with grind.
I think I understand what you’re saying. Perhaps we have slightly different definitions of the word grind.

Always be improving? I can get on board with that. But always be building? Sometime “growth” (at least in the way modern culture means) isn’t the goal.
Wow. I feel what you shared here. I am indeed wondering - these weeks more then most times - how can I up my life in terms of professional (monetary) success. All the while working in a very fulfilling and emotionally rewarding job and havin loads of time for the family...

Nah 😉 just grind it with your loved ones. Bring them in.
In cognitive behavioral Therapy they would say this a textbook example of a "core belief", which are what you learned from life as being utmost truth. They impact how you behave towards yourself and others, and sometimes is better to review them to see where they are a belief towards your well being and where not. #psychology
