- more and smaller relays around the globe - less spam - more resilient - less delay - generally cypherpunk af

migrating to georelays on bitchat. find the closest relays for any one geohash and use them instead of the big default ones. https://github.com/permissionlesstech/bitchat/tree/feat/georelay hopefully this will inspire more relay ops to accept kind 20000 and better distribute relays globally (we need more smaller ones).

Georelays will fuck with bitchat allowing stalking and censorship, and will even allow targeted DDoS attacks, bringing down the entire infrastructure according to geolocation. You guys are dumb.

There's nothing cypherpunk about your stupidity, nor do you adopt Tor or I2P for user anonymity, thus ending anonymity even when exchanging keys. Have you heard of the NSA's Project Turbine? Not even public chats are end-to-end encrypted, allowing mass interception. You're not doing this out of laziness. Using geo-referenced relays instead of everything else is the biggest stupidity I've ever read. Learn to listen to Vitor Pamplona, you idiot.

Teach us, is there any dedicated pages that instruct one how to use bitchat and set up a relay?

are you able to choose "local" relays that aren't actually local? ya'know to trick the stalkers?
I was thinking about setting one up with a starlink in a sprinter van for travel... realistically would that work as a mobile nostr/bitchat realy? And another thing, I am interested in a bitchat/nostr only phone hardware device, if this becomes a reality, could each device be a node/relay in a giant decentralized edge compute system?

Can we have more dialogue and less name calling, that would be great
It's funny that you give shit about spam on bitchat app but not on bitcoin. Why don't you make it easy for anyone to spam in bitchat since it's impossible to STOP the spam? Why would you even reduce the spam in your bitchat if you can't fix it? Maybe legitimate use case of bitchat will fix the spam issue on bitchat? At least that's what you think about spam on Bitcoin right?

Btw, any recommendation on relay packages? Strfry seems to be popular? Thanks!
Sure! First of all, I do care about Bitcoin spam. I'm just not very concerned about its impact on Bitcoin because Bitcoin protect itself with transaction fees. Second, I do believe that attempts to filter transactions are technically. We have empirical proof for this. Third, deciding which transactions are good or not is a centralizing force. It's like censorship which requires a ministry of Truth, or ad block lists that require someone to create this lists. We don't want that. I'm happy that so many people really do care about Bitcoin. But there are actors in the space that have rallied up. Many people to be extremely angry about a non-issue. That's something that the enemies of Bitcoin will abuse. Hope it clarifies at least a little bit.
