We've taken a different stance for the same reason. If Microsoft wants to spy on their users, then we just won't build for windows. This workaround only works until Microsoft decides that it may be "useful" to put the screen functionality one layer down the chain, and screenshot the DRM content as well
The logic they use is group policy can disable it, forcibly if required. Businesses won't because it's a wet dream of theirs.
I would just use Linux. I love how Signal makes privacy the default and gives you the ability to turn it off. Always make privacy the default!

We're ready for Microsoft Recall and the automatic screenshots it takes of everything on your desktop. Signal Desktop on Windows now includes support for a new "Screen security" feature designed to block screenshots of your Signal chats.

Ok. I propose another solution to the massive MS-Windows spying: LINUX 😎

Windows is building a privacy nightmare. Meredith was on point to call this out. I've abandoned that OS completely.

I love signal but the most important communication should be in person with no phones / microphone enabled devices nearby View quoted note →

Signal flatpak doesn't support Wayland (and it's not verified on Flathub, so it's insecure on Linux anyway. This is just one of a lot of reasons. Android is the way... Wait, even better: GrapheneOS is the way

This is really secure . Man can not take any screen shot of the conversations is really guarantee the privacy for both party who chat . Encrypted messages is not really secure if party in chat can take screenshot of the conversation as a proof of thing . 😁
thank you for this, and the reminder that recall will really be a huge security and privacy concern for every users soon. (when it will be activated "accidentally" in futures updates packages). And thank you for your work.
