전 세계 모든 자동차 제조사는 자사가 판매하는 모든 차종에 ‘무기술’ 또는 ‘저기술’ 버전을 반드시 갖춰야 한다. 요즘 차에 달린 온갖 기능들은 사생활 침해는 차치하고서라도, 조작하기가 정말 악몽이나 다름없다. 난 그저 차에 앉아서 에어컨을 켜고, 음악이나 들으며 운전하고 싶을 뿐이다. 그 밖의 온갖 쓸데없는 기능들은 대체 왜 있는 건가?

A kit car is an automobile someone builds from scratch, like a Lego set assembly. I always wonder why more people (any people!) aren't making a living building these kits for private sale. Imagine a car that was never ever registered. No serial number. No computer chips. No embedded surveillance. Not even a brand name for DMV records.
