Kind 1
What do you mean with "hold their structure"?
it has the network effect but it's too generic and overloaded rn. doesn't event render consistently across clients.
You know thinking about it it would probably it's own kind because some poems are about formatting.
Poems have very deliberate white space and alignment. When it’s not done well, or can’t be controlled at all, poets don’t like it. Then lots of poems get posted as images to get around this. Whitespace enhances visual impression and rhythm.
Thanks. So MarkDown should be enough, riiiight? :padme:
That seems reason enough to do it.
Thinking about it out loud:
What if we take in both the paper/sheet into mind, next to the letters fondsize and their position. Not just the letters have relative sized, but the poems themselves as well. So you can hit print, and it will have the exact border where you would have to cut it out if its smaller than a4 for example. Subsequently someone could, because the text can just be rendered as an image, offer a service where you can order printer poetry books, with additional styling and whatnot.
For some reason I can’t see dawns original text or thread for context.
I love nostr, i got chew

This screenshot hurts my eyes and pains my soul. @SuiGenerisJohn what client/app do you use?

Neat I don’t know anything about how kinds work to give any input but some kind of format forcing would be awesome as opposed to like uploading a screen shot of it 😂
A kind is just a convention on how to interpret the event (event is the abstract term for Nostr post, which is actually a signed piece of JSON).
Kind1, the most basic of basic events, is what we are mostly doing on Nostr right now. They are ''tweets'', or i like to see them as post-it notes.
There are kinds for long-form articles, that take the requirements for such a thing into account. Or kinds for videos, pictures, lists. Your basic profile data is kind0, it holds a link to the profile picture, what name you set, stuff like that.
It means that you can specifically look for things via its kind. If i want to see long-form articles, perhaps because i am in a longformarticle-app, the app searches for kind30023 stuff. If an app needs your profile data, it looks for your kind0.
If you are looking for poetry, that is not written on a post-it note, that every client out there treats like garbage i.e. kind1, you look for kind????? to get the poetry.
A NIP, Nostr Implementation Possibility, would describe what this kind would look like and how to interpret it.

Great explanation. I should get more familiar with this
Oh to answer your question I typically use Damus on iOS. And Damus on macOS. Sometimes I use primal on chrome but it’s been acting weird lately. Very slow to post post often fail.
Yeah primal is still buggy
How fun would that be? Such a motivated individual could create qrs to other events or authors, maybe the enable the customer to link to songs or videos... scrapbook + mixtape
You say scrapbook...There was this custom, atleast when i was a small kid, mostly/exclusively by girls, to have a ''poesiealbum'' (poetry album). They would write things in eachother's album, and decorate the pages and shit.

I think i accidentally did my first....whatever it is you call what it is you are doing.
Lol that's cute
That makes me think... it's really should be a poetic kind number... 🤔
What would you go with?
Kind 1212
Based on the most basic scheme,
with which rhyming is an easy thing.
The type of rhyme anyone can dream,
or sing.
I don't know 😅 there's a lot of numbers in poetry but all the ones that involve 3 are kinda lame or obscure... and it's gotta start with 3, so that it's understood as editable, like blogs.
No edits! The thing is the thing.
Won't argue 😅
C’est la vie 🚬
that's so cute and vintage omg
