Yup. Why pay with Bitcoin at same price when you can pay with a devaluing currency in 30 days?
IMO, our POS systems need to make the merchant look absolutely awesome in front of their client. That is what drives adoption and usage in B2B systems.
Facts
Agreed. Working on it.
👀
What if bitcoin is the only method of payment?
Make them look like a God
even better to charge a premium for fiat. " I prefer to be paid in Bitcoin. If you must use fiat it'll be X% surcharge."
I prefer the opposite framing more. The Bitcoin price is the real one, but there's an extra fee for paying in fiat, because there's work required to turn it into real money
Fiat premium.
Got a15% discount to buy something in bitcoin recently.
It is a good method to encourage it, for sure.
I remember @ODELL saying he offers 20% more if they accept payment in bitcoin. Great inventive.

Zeus should enable merchants to easily onboard from fiat.
Merchant has sign: “Bitcoin payments preferred. Fiat tax of 10% …”
Customer says: “How do I get that discount?”
Zeus POS generates a QR code to download Zeus wallet with a tag that on install generates a Venmo QR code that buys bitcoin on strike and sends to customer Zeus wallet.
For Strike KYC it could be merchant’s bank being paid by Venmo, making the purchase on behalf of the customer and sending to customer (cashu).
Then customer pays with Zeus and can more easily do so in the future.
Charge more for fiat
Or charge a premium if you pay in fiat...

Charge a 3% credit card transaction fee when buyers use dollars
Then No fee on Bitcoin transactions
They do in Venice, Italy
Map is a guarantee for good places. I use it every time I'm on the road. This time Venice 🇮🇹. Good food & mood & 10% discount for Bitcoiners 🧡

https://btcmap.org/merchant/node:3396925558depending on where you live, you will cut your customer base by 90% and your business will fail. most people don't own bitcoin
why accept a devaluing currency in 30 days if you could accept bitcoin?
...yet here we are, three years and 150k blocks later, still selling coffee for bitcoin...
that's great, but it's not realistic for most merchants unfortunately
Correction: Cut out 90% of your customers and the other 10% carry your business and spread the word to another 1000%. Bitcoiners are the best customers 💯
There is one huge problem with this strat, bitcoiners have realized the power of low time preference, so as a merchant you will have to change your business to provide value that outperforms the value of bitcoin 😁
Agree with that to some degree!
But my personal experience running a bitcoin-based business is that many bitcoiners also understand the inherent value of spending bitcoin– even if what they are purchasing is a consumable or something that is *not* expected to outperform the value of Bitcoin.
Ngu is not the only thing that matters; and to some degree at least, spending bitcoin, and thereby enhancing the circular economy also enhances Ngu.
When merchants produce super high quality goods/services that humans *cant live without*
+
these merchants REFUSE fiat
=
Launch of the circular economy (=MOE ERA)
The beauty of this is bitcoin incentivizes quality: you will only be able to refuse fiat when your produce/good/service is pristine in quality

Did the fees go down?
Considered and applied.
Bingo.
Agreed !
💯
With at least a 4-year horizon on opportunity cost!
Or charge a surcharge for fiat payments
It's illegal in some countries, price displayed must included the fee for thw usual payement methods accepted. However a discount it always possible.
This is the way.
Fiat dies when quality thrives. Bitcoin makes it possible to build something so good you don’t have to compromise.
