Haha that’s awesome!
Its like you're doctor Frankenstein
I'm going to bed now but making a mental note to dive into this tomorrow. This sounds bad ass doe easy to use, no brainer notes backup for normies and noobs.
Another app to add to nostrapps.com 🙌
👀
interesting!
but user still need sign-in KYC google account
Is it possible to do this on Mega?
Do past events also load?
Is a service also possible on Proton drive?
Awesome! Congrats!
Amazing 🤩👏🏻💜👑🚀
Google wants again your data
very interesting.
I guess it’s not encrypted, right? I wonder if you could use with Cryptomator to encrypt your notes and media?
gonna make a new google account first lol
Absolutely!

Excellent work ser 💪🧡
Are you expanding to other drives?
Proton / NextCloud / Dropbox?
lmao now we can finally put Docs and Sheets on Drive, without it being Google!
Just added. Giving it a try!
Damn! That's hilarious.
Exactly. I wouldn’t cheer anything that connects to the big corporate applications that collect a lot of your data.
buy cheap used chromebook. 50 bucks and you can make several accounts that use device for 2fa and google trusts as base identity. Use it when you have to verify the things and otherwise leave it turned off.
Why?
Ok cool thing! But this doesn’t match my deGoogle strategy 🤓 so instead of using Google Drive as a storage provider, let’s have a look at other FOSS solutions? What about a blossom-server? I’ve setup one last week at nstore.nostrver.se and I’m digging into how I can use drives and upload blobs on this server from Nuxstr (just a nostr sandbox client I’m building as a Vue/Nuxt template for Nostr clients)
I would really like to see a version of this for
https://deta.space/ 👀
this could actually work in a world in which clients used the outbox model
maybe NIP-65 should specify grades of importance
like this would be "write" but with lowest priority somehow such that others won't connect to it to download your stuff
or maybe just say it is in the "backup" category
This is great, shame that I don't use Google drive. I would love to see something like this for Nextcloud.
Excellent idea to combine Nostr and "legacy" world and a good stating point to add features on top.
👍
but google is centralised
not true. we need to leave behind the legacy centralised world
i am totally against this. my view. i will not use it
When
@npub1mea2...qane Drive Relay?
#cornynews self reminder
Use technology for the real world. Not everyone cares about security and privacy. If not the ease of use.
Congrat🍾
Are there really people on Nostr that want to let Google back up all their nostr notes?
It's great to see experimentation, of course, but this feels like a Werewolf experimenting in silver bullets...
The last 2 sentences can’t both be true..? Unless I’m missing something
. 👍 Awesome! Securely archive all your #Nostr events to the complimentary space on your Google drive, which is usually idle! 🚀 It's a quick setup, only taking minutes. 💾
Maybe it's not for everyone, but for those of us who post publicly and have an old Google account hanging around, this is fantastic.

but connected my google account. Do I have to create the nostr folder on my own?
We love it, amazing work! Don't forget to apply to one of our open positions.
cool we have root access to those servers.
Next: A blossom proxy that uses Google Drive as storage? 🙏
"True" or "false" are absolutes that do not apply here.
Why does this feel like giving up privacy for convenience? Would be cool to have it on something like Nextcloud or something.
But it’s Google…
is this functionally just to back up notes on drive or does it make sharing drive files on nostr simpler?
seems like a potentially great tool for content creators that use drive for files
should be good for nostr adopti9n I would think
Are my events on Google Drive encrypted?
Can I set a password of my own?
Love it.
Alex this is bad-ass. I wanted a way to archive my posts and you provided one. Not all heroes wear capes… 🫡
No (but the drive contents are only available to you)
Yes
"glownigger.exe is running in the background ..."

Kinda awesome, ngl! 😂
(I think there’s a typo in your FAQ though. *Why* would I want that)
But... Why....
Now what?

Don’t see anything in my drive, why is this better than Nostr on Umbrel or something similiar?
Then we can host a Blossom Drive on Google Drive 😂
Still hesitating to link my npub with my google account. On the other hand... I might have done that with Primal, Wavlake and Fountain already 🤔

You just got it from us. 😡
It's not the primary, so you aren't reliant on it. It's just a nifty thing to check out.
Can I get my vintage notes also into here somehow for archival?
This is great! Thanks for working on it!
Can someone explain what this post means?
Nostr is connected to Google Drive. Interesting

You signin with your Google Account, and then it's a Nostr Relay that saves your events to Google Drive so you have a backup copy of them.
If you have a copy of your events, you can import them into Nostr apps and restore them to relays in case of failure.
Its basically a low barrier of entry way for the average user to backup their own data using a familiar tool and account they probably already have.
TY
You don't need to go through Google to get access to data already being published to public relays. Hope this helps!
We know. What we want is the metadata (IPs, user-agent, fingerprint, etc).
no problem!
Lame
I just set this up b/c why not. #reckless
Does this means it enables a KYC to my npub?
Sorry my poor English.
Does using nosdrive.app link my npub with the KYC associated to my Google account?
Could it be that everything will be on Google servers and not in your account? Could it be that your data will be safer there?
At what price?
At the price of privacy?
seems like 1 click KYC for your npub
how about dumping ones posts into freenet(project) (now: hyphanet) space as well or for general future.
Can we have a Proton Drive based relay..? 😎
