Imagine thinking there are 15,000 people running BIP-110 when there are clearly MULTIPLE Sybil attacks going on to inflate node counts. π€‘π€‘π€‘

Thereβs about ten accounts on X promoting BIP 110 that I was even vaguely aware of existing a year ago or am sure theyβre a real person as Iβve met them/seen them on podcasts/etcβ¦.

And do what? They lowered the miners activation from 95% to 55%, even that failed with only 1% miners support. If they force UASF, they will fork off with no miners support and die immediately.

You use your head and DYOR. Miners have no incentive to activate before mandatory activation, that's game theory. Doesn't mean they won't all switch the bit once it's mandatory beginning of August.

But... Noderunner set the policy. Miners hash. Those two things are not the same.
Heck, you may be right, but I am learning more about this that I ever would have thanks to this kerfuffle. Philosophically, I side with whoever wants to keep Bitcoin as a peer to peer electronic cash system. Nothing else.
I get the feeling this is just the start of moving back towards that.

The 5-6 mining pools will stay on a conference call to insure BIP-110 doesn't have a chance. There won't be a game of chicken or a "red" or "blue" button.
Even if the first block after activation is BIP-110 eligible (unlikely with 1-2% of the hash) then they will just wait for the second block. Then next block is not BIP-110 eligible and BIP-110 forks off, then they just chill on the conference call for another hour until 6 more blocks are mined on their chain to be sure it's over then they hang up and go to bed.

if there is really 15000 knots nodes running that means it is the majority now. it's also enough that spam transactions will miss blocks on a regular basis because of the propagation delay
right but 15000 nodes - while there can't be more than 15000 nodes that aren't running it. hell i'd throw my hat in if i was in a better financial situation too.
also what makes you so sure that people dropping taproot transactions isn't going to slow down spammers? of course it is going to slow it down. the miners won't block users who propagate non-taproot non-spam transactions, they got bills to pay.
no amount of astroturfing is going to change the outcome if the people are proactively rejecting the transactions and deferring accepting blocks that allows a non-spammy block to get mined in parallel.
the war will continue until the market decides and that's nothing to do with illogical arguments and propaganda campaigns coming from people connected with us and israeli and bankster spook ops.
Unless you, the node runner create your own template, then you are just a βhasherβ. Point is there wonβt be enough miners support to keep the fork alive, if that is the case, what is the point of this?
