Nostr accepts you like family, even the crazy uncle. Can't say that about the other "platforms". And yes, I know this is a protocol. Let's not play semantics tonight 🙏

It looks like Jesse posted there one hour ago. Are you saying it’s a done deal that he will be permanently banned because 13,000 people signed a petition?
It depends how many of those other millions give a shit. Not as much as this noisy bunch of cunts is my guess so yeah, probably? 🤷🏼‍♂️
I like how it’s not obvious who it’s even seeking to ban suggesting people will just virtue signal into it. But really Jesse singal!?
The petition says he's breaking the law, so couldn't he just be arrested?

Someone should remake that Simpsons meme: I wonder if people having alternative opinions everywhere I go means I'm wrong to try to cancel and censor others? NO. It's everyone else who's out of touch!

12k+ signatures here to force Bluesky to permaban someone If something can be censored, it will be censored

What a fantastic exposé of a lost generation! That letter should be distributed to the world by the Nostr CEO. It lays out clear as day why Blue sky and all that came before are a failed and ridiculous experiment. Centralised control and overbearing rules are a perfect recipe for perpetual self flagellation, stifling conversation, division, hobbling progress and missed solutions. 100% freedom of expression on Nostr is so non intuitive through a blue sky lense, yet such a successful tactic to bring out the best in users. I can say whatever I want, do whatever I want, and nobody can stop me. And if I choose to break a law or upset someone, hey everyone, there are still consequences. But I don't need some Karen or control freak neighbour down the street to sign a petition to make me behave reasonably and positively. Long live Nostr, or just throw social media in the toilet and get back to putting pen to paper and chats down the pub.
