Reactions sound are more like upvotes and zaps are the effective payment for a good content. Don’t eliminate upvotes.

Even better idea: like costs 1 sat minimum. If you press like and you have a wallet connected, it automatically credits you 1 sat, and the post receives both a like and a zap notification. If you haven’t added a wallet, like fails and you get a error message that you need to connect a wallet to like content 🤌

There'w no mechanism to implement any of these shoulds and woulds to any degree we might call 'protocol wide'.
What we have now in terms of zaps and reactions we're stuck with pretty much forever, or unless there's a hard fork.

I think there is one but clients don’t use it because of the X clone feature stasis of Nostr clients.
Not all human engagement is v4v. Sometimes we just say hi with a smile or nod to each other for being around.
The "like" button
Actually, I understand that NOSTR uses the concept of "reaction" and not "like." Therefore, a reaction can be an emoji to show something more than just a like (including a dislike).
Amethyst uses the concept of dislike in a way that is independent of most if not all other apps.
