$BTC network just got a little more secure. The first SolarBit unit hosting a BitAxe Gamma 1.2THs $BTC miner, is now officially deployed off-grid and operating fully autonomously in the Mediterranean. Decentralized deployment in progress....

This project has been a long time in the making ... Huge POW!! Very satisfying to here the mechanical whirring before the solar panels lock in to place!

I’m really impressed by these, relly good job! Curious question: how much more effect can you get from these who tracks the sun compared to a fixed/stationary solar panel? I understand that with location etc is a lot of variables but in the ballpark?
Cool af! Does it have to be extremely sunny for these things to keep working? Also how do I build/get one?

The tracking provides a glat power .. dawn.. on... Dust off.. static panel will have a curve peak curve as sun rises.. peaks mid day and ramps down in the afternoon
And can it be translated in to how many more watt-hours you can get out the same panels when you track compared to have them static?

If mother nature provides enough energy it mines it... When nature says no we sleep and wait Details here As for availability made 10 units as a first test batch to gauge interest and they sold. First OG batch was pricey at 1M SATs a piece as it's the first limited run and low volume parts where spicey to acquire.

It's fully autonomous. Day ops only. When nature provides power you mine. When no power it will auto stop. It will rinse and repeat daily. Wakes up east.. tracks to dusk. Then resets east sleeps waits for sunrise. Rinse and repeat

Hard ... As it's so damn dynamic to gauge accurate numbers on solar. No day no moment is the same. The panels are 2x 30w on this version. Max 60w on paper. Reality varies a lot.
Of course! I saw this and was very excited to see what you did! Kind of motivating me to do this!

When I first heard of the bitaxe that’s the use case that first came to mind! Would be nice if we could just slap a hash box behind any solar panel similar to a power optimizer. This is a huge step in that direction nice work!
Have you done any profitability analysis on that? I wonder if it makes sense to run one, given the cost of equipment and solar panel degradation over time.
