Don't blame Jack. NY is not part of America - just one more reason to move away from that dystopian state.

fuck authority by paying taxes to your overlords who restrict financial freedom? I mean I guess you can claim you build hard enough in other areas to overcome that deficit.
I’d imagine that’s the same for the UK too. Regulation is getting very restrictive for bitcoin/money apps here. Basically can’t buy bitcoin with GBP without going to an exchange that has been KYC’d to the max. Pocketbitcoin was one of the latest to stop payments in GBP.
New regulations in the United Kingdom: The FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) has just introduced the new regulation "PS23/6: Financial promotion rules for cryptoassets" in the UK. This new regulation has come into force in the last few days in a fast-track process and means that from now on we will no longer be able to accept and process transactions in British pounds as we did previously.

NY is the worst; a New Yorker
Would love all federal and state funded programs to disappear entirely. Have never been able to name a single one I feel can outperform similar options from the private sector.
I hear you, but IMHO that isn’t a realistic goal for probably our lifetimes. That’s why it’s important to focus on specific issues that have a chance of success, like repealing or drastically reforming the BitLicense.
BitLicense is a complete scam. “We don’t understand something, so until we do, it’s banned” is so short-sited. It takes a few YEARS for companies to go through the legal system just to be allowed to operate as normal as they can in 49 other states. Everyone knows this, and not sure who gave NY any authority to operate like this. It hinders innovation and business severely.
I’d say the exact opposite…you know you’re a hardcore bitcoiner if you live in New York. We have regulation here that limits access to using certain features of platforms that integrate Lightning and exchanges. For example Strike and CashApp. There are work arounds but those workarounds are not common to many.
