⭕️ Limited Edition Oshi Chocolate Hodl Butter ⭕️
This idea started months ago when @Ben Justman🍷 asked if I’d make a chocolate version of my #hodlbutter. Naturally, I was into it.
I took on the challenge, but it took time. A few months, honestly. I needed to figure out exactly how I wanted to make it: which ingredients, what ratios, what texture, what flavor profile - everything.
And what’s super cool is that the time I spent dialing it in led to a bunch of unique relationships with other merchants on Nostr… who then, synchronistically, ended up supplying the exact ingredients I needed. That was honestly the strangest (and best) part of this whole journey - everything just kind of fell into place.
It took multiple iterations to refine what I was aiming for, because what I really wanted to replace is what Nutella has become today - which, to me, is just nonsensical garbage. I wanted a better version.
That sent me down a rabbit hole into the history of it, and that’s when I discovered Italian Gianduja. I had no idea it existed, but it lined up perfectly with what I’d been trying to create, so this is my own take on it.
What makes this butter especially unique is that it’s built with ingredients sourced from several Nostr merchants. That’s super cool to me, and it makes this product feel genuinely “of Nostr,” and for the community.

They all make incredible products, and I’m genuinely grateful for how naturally this all came together - and that I was able to turn it into a real jar you can hold.
Limited release: 21 jars
This is a limited run of 21 jars and wooden spoons, because this butter takes a lot of work and time to make.
I boil the hazelnuts and remove the skins from them, which also supports the nutrition side of things - like reducing anti-nutrients (phytic acid). Hazelnuts, like many nuts, contain phytic acid, which can bind to minerals (iron, zinc, calcium) and reduce absorption. Boiling can help leach out some of that, making the nutrients more available and easier on the stomach.
I can grantee no other hazelnut spread goes through the rigor that I’ve done.
Then they are caramelized in organic maple sugar to give a unique texture and flavor profile before going into the food processor.
