Most of my friends are non-Bitcoiners. A significant fraction are non-binary, an even larger number are neurodiverse, and many are half my age: a great variety of fascinatingly different humans! It's OK to be weird, and it makes our world more interesting. If that makes me outside someone's "ethos of Bitcoin" I think they misunderstand what Bitcoin is for.

There's nothing wrong with it & there's nothing that goes against the ethos of bitcoin. But expecting loyalty from the mentally unstable when times get tough is a good way to get stabbed in the back. How many of them didn't want the unvaxxed to have access to grocery stores 3 years ago? It may end up being impossible to walk the line between the normie world & the bitcoin world at some point in the future. Knowing who is who is important.
I respect and admire Rusty a lot but Jeff is right here. There is nothing wrong with anything Rusty stated but it is downright dangerous to trust people that’ll just bend over for the dystopia. This isn’t about politics per se. I would say the same thing if we had W Bush in there trampling on the bill of rights. The truth is the persuasion of people that are Raging on Behalf of the Machine is quite obvious.
Bitcoiners are obviously weird too. None of what you said is "against bitcoin ethos" but there does happen to be a high correlation among the non-binary & neurodiverse with socialism. It would be pretty ignorant to claim that socialism is within the ethos of bitcoin. Bitcoin's very nature is to destroy it.

Makes sense that non-binary people don't understand binary technology 😉
Weird is absolutely fine. If a person supports individual rights and property rights then there is a chance for bridgebuilding through common values. I think it is important to debate the problems of central planning, because nobody can know who will be in charge of a centrally planned system, let's say 10 years ahead. Whatever interests a person have, those interests may be harmed by a central planning bureaucrat at some point. Decentralization and free markets allows for competing visions to exist.

There's no such thing as non-binary, but I agree and like weird people too. "Non-binary" is a non-truth and bitcoin is about finding truth. That's the only incompatibility I see. Everyone is binary, though their sexual interest varies. No amount of surgery or hormones can make you the opposite sex.

But are you male cat gender or female cat gender?
Understanding is in the mind, we need to be OK with not understanding & connect to our heart for guidance. Our heart is our connection to that part of us that can see & understand the bigger picture. Our minds make beautiful servants, but dangerous masters. In terms of the effects that humans have on each other, know that there is no other. There is only ever you & a reflection of you. Take nothing personally & don't judge yourself over the reflection you provided someone. You have no reason to feel guilty. Love yourself in all it's manifestations & let go the fear that your mind created. ❤️💚🧡
It's a bit strange that you say all this stuff about what you like personally, which is fine, but then come in at the end about what bitcoin 'is for' as if that is the same for everyone
Well, we know that totalitarians are in charge of Western nations. If we want to predict the direction of our societies we have to analyse the program code of policies that our nations run by. The UN Agenda 21 + its next goal post Agenda 2030 reveals how deep the totalitarianism runs, what its aims are and what the program code looks like. This is why Bitcoin matters. If we lived in a free society we wouldn't need to seek out a liberty solution. Now we have no choice but to avoid a 1984 society or suffer the consequences of central planning.
If anyone thinks that Bitcoin is some sort of magic elixir to make everyone agree on any topic in the world, ya'll are definitely crazy
Stop being a soyboy. These non-binaries are just morons/mentally ill. There are only 2 genders: Male and female.
No point in distinguishing between the two for humans. Human gender=human sex. So, there are only 2.

Silly word games. The choice is binary: you are a man or a woman. No need to confuse the subject.
Ignoring, for the moment, that real biology is more complex than that: Messing with people's societal expectations has always been a part of the hacker ethos. Coming from a conservative background myself, I used to find this shocking, too!

There's a lot at stake and real biology is not more complex than that, excluding birth defects. I can appreciate youthful rebellion as it was also my MO, but the tranny movement are not cool biohackers, they are mostly utterly deluded youth being misled by irresponsible adults who are so afraid of being labeled bigot or transphobe that they have conceded objective reality to appease the mentally ill.
Lol, everyone is female except for birth defects :) "There's a lot at stake". I disagree: there are a lot of people very upset at others' choices. It's a moral panic. I've heard all this before, too. Gotta go pray the gay away...
There used to be a high correlation of people like that and Bitcoin adoption. In Europe, most Bitcoin stickers would be on left anarchist spaces, never on anything right wing.

I'm guessing you loved the Olympics opening ceremony. When you are trying to raise kids and everywhere you look you find the elevation and worship of things that are so banal and crude, yes, it produces a dismay and moral panic, rightfully so. It's so fiat and cheap. People born gay can recognize their mental birth defect and choose instead to use their genitals as they were intended. First step is recognizing the error.

Heh, no, just acknowledging the correct usage and not celebrating the wrong usage. You don't complement and applaud Fido when he humps a fire hydrant.

You can't pray the gay away, just as you can't pray downs syndrome away. You can only pray for guidance and strength to follow the right path, rather than be indignant and double down on the wrong path.
