If you do the math, in Europe, the state takes between 50% and 70% of what you earn. That is, in the best case scenario, the state decides what will be done with 50% of your money, which is your time, which is your freedom, you only have the other half to decide. Democracy? Freedom? Smells like communism, ergo it is communism. Now some statist bootlicker will come and tell me something about roads and hospitals, but I'd rather ride a horse on dirt tracks and cure myself with herbs than have 70% of what I earn with my sweat taken away from me and spent by politicians on whores and cocaine.

The distinction between the mafia /criminal organisations and the government is non-existent Understanding how taxation is theft is fundamental to this and how this relationship will always be based on coercion, just like the mafia. Taxation isn’t just theft when it’s spent on things you don’t like, it always is
Taxation doesn't actually pay for much these days. Under the current economic model, the central banks print the money and the government loans the money from them. Whenever the government wants to spend money they get new money "printed"(it's mostly digital now that's just a stand in word) Taxes get removed from circulation to control the inflation. Mafia do not have a monopoly on violence or currency, that's really the only difference between the state and a large organised crime gang.

Taxation does pay for stuff, it’s not a small amount of the government’s revenue, in Ireland anyways Both the mafia and the government don’t respect the NAP (Non Aggression Principle) and relies on coercion which underpins both these organisations. I guess that’s the fundamental point. They may go about it in slightly different ways but ultimately they have characteristics more similar than we’d like Especially of the fact that none of them have many moral qualms with the general result of their organisations and live in ignorant bliss while others suffer

At 70% people are just livestock on a free range tax farm.

You seem to confuse "bureaucracy" and "communism".
Actually distinction exists between mafia and governments because the second one has more guns and use more violence. Easy to spot!

these are very generous assumptions. Your money isn’t just taken away, but also used against you and used to distort market mechanisms.
It's a false dichotomy; you don't have to choose between a parasitic government and poverty. In fact, it's more likely that you would end up riding a horse on dirt tracks under a socialist government than in a society that respects private property and is free from violence

I don't like to pay taxes but I can call an ambulance if I need it and I can be cured for free, I can enjoy curated parks, beaches and museums and I can take the metro which gets liquidity injection from the government every year. I'm sure a good chunk of my taxes goes wasted in bureaucracy, theft and inefficiencies, but stretching to call this a mafia scheme is exaggerated in my opinion, from someone who lives in a mafia-dense environment.
