I don’t want you telling me what I must do with my sats. I also don’t care what you do with yours.

Does it seem plausible that a system that prints money could come up with 1 billion dollars a year to suppress the adoption of bitcoin? If they wanted to buy off content creators to reduce the confidence in the code review process, support harmful BIPs, create quantum FUD, start malicious forks, and all manner of things, how many could they get at an average cost of $175k a year? Well, let’s do the math…. $1b / $175k = 5,714 paid influencers a year. There aren’t that many well known voices in bitcoin you say, and nobody would sell out for $175k a year. Ok, let’s say you just need 75 highly influential voices in the bitcoin community to disrupt adoption. How much does each one get offered? $1B / 75 people = $13.3 million a year to each of them. Could you find people to say what you want for that kind of money? Is this happening? I’d have no way to know for sure, but it seems foolish to not assume the financial system would not try. Look at the amounts of wasteful money DOGE found before they were told to stop. Remember, these people were going to throw $2B at Stacey Abram’s dormant NGO just to keep her on the team. Spending $1B to keep the fiat system defended against bitcoin seems reasonable. What’s the point? Don’t trust, verify. When you see people campaigning to change bitcoin, especially those who seem to make it their full time job, be skeptical. Many OGs made bad decisions and no longer have much bitcoin, they’re easy targets for influence peddlers. People who just show up with large audiences are questionable. The calm voices are much more likely to have the right incentives. The loud voices might be the ones worried about loosing their funding if they can’t move the needle. Stay calm, stack sats on private keys you control, seek truth, change your mind slowly. 🚁😎

I’m thankful nostr has a mute function so I can censor people I find annoying from my latest feed. Some people have done the same to me and that doesn’t bother me a bit.

Do monero people even have their own conversations or do they only squat in bitcoiner threads? 🙄

GM. Sitting on the patio having coffee with my dog. Reading headlines and wondering if the Iranians will be smart enough to figure out how to actually own their Bitcoin private keys.

Went out to relax in the pool and instead saw I needed to work on the pool. Lots of opportunities in life to remind ourselves that happiness is a choice. 😎
