Is there a good 3rd option of bitcoin node to run.
Or maybe a 4th option.
Bitcoin is starting to feel like a 2 party system.

I was thinking the same thing. Feeling real "american government" 'round these parts lately.
We've reached a point where one has to decide if they actually want to run a node, or not. One is one man show, the other is driven by conflicts of interest.
LibreRelay, Btcd
Mine Monero, and use it to buy Bitcoin on Robosats or Bisq non-KYC.
In time there will be. You can adjust your own mempool policy settings in the meantime.
Google says these. I don't know about any of them
btcd: An alternative full-node implementation written in Go, which does not include a native wallet functionality.
Gocoin: A full-node implementation that has been noted for its dashboard.
libbitcoin: An independent Bitcoin stack, although advertised as pre-alpha.
Bcoin: A JavaScript-based implementation.
bitcoinj: A Java implementation that can operate in a fully verifying mode.
Cut to the chase.. just mine btc.
How would not running a node at all help the Bitcoin ecosystem? I don't get that take.
libbitcoin
Yes
Hmm 🤔
bitcoinj and libbitcoin. the bitcoinj maintainer is a real OG and is always looking for contributors, also is a good mentor. I love Eric's work, so that makes me biased toward libbitcoin
Good to know. I am not 100% sure to make of everything yet but I believe options are good.
Just use older versions of Core for the time being. Since they're safer than running Knots. Competition in Node implementations is good, this is what being decentralized is. Libbit is interesting, but it is slightly risky to run. But supporting them is worth it.
I'm working on my own implementation in rust. But I definitely don't want people to use it yet. Since it has more issues than relationship with a person with daddy issues. 😂 But hopefully we can find more common ground.
