It's been known on the internet for 30 years that you can get pretty far doubling down on your stupid ideas and refusing to ever admit fault. More and more people are familiar with this strategy. It's even gotten as far as the White House. Children think that this looks like strength. But actual adults know it is weakness. It betrays a deep insecurity. A confident person, an *adult, knows that strength comes from being able to acknowledge their mistakes and idiocy and resolve to do better in the future.
