Five years ago my wife and I started to expect children.
Three years ago we found out we would likely never be able to conceive children due to a health defect of mine.
A few months after that we were blessed with the opportunity to adopt our first son. Who we named Hank. An incredibly quick turn around thanks to our amazing adoption agency.
Two years ago tonight, after a three and a half month fight, Hank was taken from us by his Cancer.
It's amazing, the lifetime we lived with him. It almost feels as if Hank's life unfolded within a time pocket. That pocket became our world. When he slipped away from us, we slipped out of the pocket. Back into the reality of our vast world, with wave after wave of obligation and responsibility crashing into us.
Our time with Hank radically reshaped our lives. Hank showed us the fragility of life. Showed us strength we didn't know we had. Possibly the most important thing he taught us is the importance of time, and how to spend it.
So tonight, I'd just like to remind everyone to hug your loved ones, and thank God for every moment you have with them. You never know when you won't have that privilege anymore.
In loving memory of our son, Hank.
Have a blessed evening, from our family to yours.

Thank you for sharing your story. My husband and I are planning to adopt as our first choice. Hank sounds like an incredible young man and I’m glad he got to experience family 🖤.

You're welcome. God bless yours as well.
Adoption is a very nerve-wracking and very rewarding endeavor. I'll pray God leads a child your way.
thank you for trusting us with your stories. 🫂
Hank’s life may have been short, but the love he created clearly wasn’t.
Thank you for sharing him with us.
Holding your family in my thoughts tonight. 💛
You're welcome.
Thank you. He brightened everyone's day that had the opportunity to interact with him. He was borderline oblivious to the giant he was fighting. He was such a happy lil chap.

I’m so, so sorry 🙏🏽 🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂
He's in a better place
Sounds like he was sent to bless you and teach you. May God give you peace if his passing.
Your story is heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.
Thank you for sharing something so deeply personal. Hank’s life, though brief, clearly carried a weight and a light far beyond his years.
May God continue to comfort your family with the hope that only He can give, and may the lessons Hank left in your hearts ripple outward to everyone who hears your story.
Holding your family in prayer today.
May the Lord bless you with peace, and may Hank’s memory remain a bright light in your lives.

Awesome, am pleased for you all.
Blessed for sharing your story. Thank you.
My Uncle once told me that it is our job as parents to lead our children to live a Christian life so that we can have an eternity with them in Heaven. I am rest assured, that Hank will be waiting for my wife and I, and that he is with us even now.
Certainly. Peace I have, but the sorrow I don't think will go away until we're reunited in Heaven.
Thank you. God bless you and your family as well. I get to live and work everyday in honor of his memory, and appreciate the time with the son we have with us now all that much more.
You're welcome. Bless you and your family.
Thank you.

For those who have lived similar hardships, your “pocket of time” is well understood, and something which few can understand.
May God bless you and keep you, and give you His peace.
My condolences. It provides some solace knowing that I'm not alone in that feeling.
May God bless you, keep you, and give you His peace as well.
Well, in my experience, no condolences are needed, thanks be to God!, but the scars will linger on.
My heart was broken when I read this. 😥
I think the most valuable thing for us is our family. For me, my father, mother, sister, and brother. Especially I love them a lot. I am with them, and I won't leave them any day. I do everything I can to make their lives very bright with hard work.
Tell your family that you love them, as one day it will be a memory for you. ❤️
