It takes both. The ratio between the two is probably relative depending what kind of content you’re posting, but in general I find that engaging with other people more often than posting my own content seems to work best.
Define growth
Since no one goes to global anymore, for obvious reasons, I would say that interacting with other folks' content is the main way.
If web of trust tools made global more usable on more clients, posting your own content might be a legitimate way to grow, too.

Building proper tools take time, experimentation and of course dedication. I might be too bullshit on #nostr but I believe we'll get there.

I believe posting content expands nostr but interacting solidifies nostr. Both are required to properly grow nostr.
