Your work is a magnet to the audience that's in need of it. You don't have to be everyone's everything. But it's nice to feel like someone's something.

Y'all do a great job sending me art and memes and music when I'm down. Philosophical stuff helps too. But if you really want to make me cry and feel like an idiot cunt send me this. Send me my own fucking advice I can't seem to take. View quoted note β†’
Well. Pull up s log going one and sit by the fire. Let Grandpa tell you a story to put you to sleep. Long story short the stache was born in 2010 when I was in film school. The end. But that's not what you came to hear is it? No, well I say it was born in May 2010 because that was when the semester ended and therefore the moustache was cemented as final. But it really started earlier that semester in my mandatory film critical theory class even though since freshmen semester when most people are "prefilm" I was already in the film major and accepted into the production side of things due to my film photography portfolio. In this class my professor Allison thought it was goofy to give extra credit to dudes who grew out their facial hair like old timey film theorists. And women just had to bring in fake moustaches. I actually want opposed to this idea. And to explain this let's go back further to when I was a kid. I didn't always want to be in movies. First I wanted to be James Bond. I don't mean a spy. I mean him. I had gadgets and all this stuff but I was also a smartass. So I thought about it one day and I was like, ok I'm not British... And like how do I get this job, do they come to me? Do I like join the army first? So I was like blah that's out. Next I want to be a cowboy. But no one rides horses in LA. So astronaut! And I went to space camp and dropped out after 2 days because I wanted to be weightless and floating around in space, and do the spinny thing, but that was like 5 mins in the last day the REST of the time you're doing math. FUUUUUUCCCCCK THAT. so I decided if I make movies either behind or in front (after highschool definitely behind) the camera then I can live my dreams vicariously through what I put on the screen. So unpause and I'm like yeahhhhhhhh me with a cowboy moustache would be fucking cool! But no one does that! That's weird! But I was like. Well I'll do it for class get the thrill then shave. So I picked Edvard MuΓΌnsterberg as the film theorist, but I'm my mind I was like yee I'm doc Holliday. And say the time I actually worked with horses so I was the whole deal. And yeah 2 months to curl then all the reactions. Everyone loved it. I just kept it. I couldn't not. The only thing wrong with it is people watching. Like at the mall. Whole different game now. Used to be watching people be weird so weird shit. Now it's watching people look at me until they realize I'm looking back then pretend they're not looking.

13 years! It’s a part of you. Kind of like a piece of art or tattoo? Takes you to a place, reminds you of a memory, or time in your life.

Awesome pics! You haven’t changed much!
This all happened by the time I was like 11 btw. I started making short stop motion movies with a little cam corder and remote control cars and other toys. Or like stopping the footage to make it look like my friend got hot by a car and stuff. Then in highschool I took 3 years of photography and learned film and learned light and how it affects black and white and other colors affect black and white and just how light works in general. Then boom college film school. Cal State long Beach where Spielberg dropped out from. My cinematography prog was the camera assistant on hook. My directing teacher was the director producer of Walker Texas ranger. So my teachers worked during the day and taught us at night. We got hands on experience like how to do shit on set so people don't laugh at you which is crazy because I see people coming out of Chapman and usc doing unsafe shit it's crazy.

Sounds like an amazing experience and looking back on it, it must feel nice to know what you were mesnt to be doing and are still doing it.

I live my life with 4 rules. 1. You do you because Imma do me. 2. Fuck around and find out because I ain't no bitch. 3. I'll try anything twice because you know know if the first time you weren't in the mood or didn't know what you were getting yourself into. 4. When people tell you "your going to regret that in the morning" politely scream in their face "I SLEEP TILL NOON"

I love your enthusiasm, but my work seems to attract the three centers of power in the world. πŸ˜… And to be clear, I did not invite them. πŸ˜’

πŸ˜‚ I'll keep it in mind. So far, they seem to be pissed off about silly things, even things that aren't only right but also legal. 😁
