Nearly anything has copyright/copyleft or licence nowadays, even Litecoin has MIT License

That isn't the issue, the person, group or organisation that creates something has automatic rights under law to how they release their creation to the world. Most of the time, they will just go with the default setting or use one of the more bespoke solutions that are arising. Checking with the creator if you are unsure about its status is fine. Telling them that they have to use a particular form of copyright when they tell you that it is free use on the other hand is just rude and Statist. The State only has the power over us that we let it have - there is no need to do its policing for it.
