Thatβs awesome!! What were you hunting for? Itβs so beautiful today Iβm hunting in just a long sleeve shirt and pants while my light jacket hangs on the back of my chair. Stay tunedβ¦ Iβm sure Iβll be hunting in some snow in a few weeks from now.
I just went archery with my old man on the range today and it was with a recurve bow, fun, though surely more challenging than a compound one. Happy hunting!
Thank you!! What a fun outing with your dad. Yes shooting a recurve is more challenging for sure with shooting instinctually with no sights and drawing back and holding the entire draw weight. Iβm thankful to have a compound bow with 80% let off which comes in handy when you draw back when the deer isnβt looking and waiting for the perfect opportunity to release. Easier than a recurve but more skill than a crossbow! π
This afternoon was the first of the season. Iβm a treestand girlie but started in a ground blind years ago. I like the advantages a tree stand offers. One plus being of course to see them coming and be out of their line of sight.
It is!! Iβm going to reflect back on this picture when Iβm amongst the cold in a few weeks from now. I was able to just wear a thin long sleeve shirt while hunting. It was too hot for anything else.
Nice, tree stand is definitely the way to go if you can. I bow and rifle hunt but I find bow to much more relaxing but obviously more of a challenge. Good luck and keep us posted.
Oh nice! I have a short draw length and low draw weight so I only shoot 100 grain. I found the Rage mechanicals fly more true like a field point for me personally.
When you have a longer draw length and heavier draw weight, your options are plentiful. Most men I know shoot 125 grain broadheads. 200gr would definitely pack a punch. I believe crossbow broadheads are typically 150 grains.
I havenβt upgraded my set up at all in quite some time so havenβt seen the new stuff out there.
Yes!! I love my Mathews compound bows! The wood grip is something that appealed to me from the start. I like the classic look. βΊοΈ
The vanes may look patriotic but they are actually pink, purple and white. Iβm also Canadian! π
