One of my fondest memories was hiking the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and sleeping on the Esplanade—one of the large flat rock plateus before the final descent down to the Colorado river. It was such a wide and vast space with absolute zero artificial light, that you can see the Milky Way and constellations moving across the sky in brilliant hues. It was truly an awe inspiring moment and I’m grateful to God for His creation and the fact we get to enjoy it. nostr:note1zcg770su7tt6us560u0gm0fh7xx780epacznlhpqem5aetfcy5kqqwfte9

If you ever get the chance, raft through the canyon. I've traveled a lot, and that was probably the most amazing thing I've done. The only problem is that it is a lot more expensive than hiking the canyon. I've been thinking about doing it with my family, but haven't yet been willing to pay what it would cost for 4.

I hiked the narrows something like 40 years ago. I think we saw one or two groups of people in our 3-4 hour hike. It seemed like a secret treasure. I hiked it again 4 years ago. It felt like hiking down the street in Manhattan. Everyone seems to have discovered my hidden treasure.
