Good reflection this morning… Some days I wonder how our grandmas did it… because I swear I’m running all day and still feel behind. Here’s the real reason we “don’t have time”… and it’s not because we’re worse than our grandmas: 1. We’re glued to phones they never had. We don’t have our attention split into a thousand pieces all day long. They weren’t fighting with a device that steals hours without our noticing. 2. We’re overstimulated from the minute we wake up. Noise, messages, opinions, reminders; our nervous systems literally don’t get a break. 3. We’re raising kids without the community they had. Neighbors, sisters, aunties, women constantly around. We’re doing motherhood basically alone. 4. We compare ourselves to hundreds of moms daily. They’re comparing themselves to… maybe their cousin’s highlight reel? We’re drowning in everyone’s. 5. Their days had actual slowness. Ours don’t. We fill every quiet moment with scrolling or “catching up.” They sat, rested, breathed. 6. God was the center of their homes. Now we’re mothering in a culture that treats faith like an optional add-on. That shift alone changes everything about our peace, strength, and rhythm. Grandmas did. 7. We’re carrying mental loads they never had to think about. Endless research, milestones, safety worries, constant information, schedules—all of it living inside our heads. It’s not that our grandmas were better at it. It’s that their world wasn’t pulling them in a million directions. And going into the new year? I’m choosing rhythms, systems, and habits that help my home feel peaceful again… not saying perfect at all, but more intentional. What’s one thing you’re bringing back into your home this season? If you’re trying to slow down, simplify, and build a God-centered home… you’re not alone. #GM [Original Post by Melanie Alexandra on TikTok, Modern Motherhood vs. Grandmas)] image

During devotions this morning (oh and GOOD MORNING NOSTRICHES!) I’m finishing up a book written by a former pastor, now business man / retired. “The world will keep offering cheap substitutes: - Passivity that numbs your purpose and silences your leadership - Fake strength that masks insecurity with dominance and control - Aimless scrolling that trades real focus for distraction - Avoiding people, conversations, and hard projects in the name of busyness - Barking orders instead of earning respect - Relying on titles or positions instead of building trust - Living by double standards while demanding others step up - Playing the victim instead of taking responsibility None of that reflects the character of Christ. Biblical manhood calls you higher. It calls you to live with conviction, consistency, and courage. Not to retreat into comfort or to dominate others, but to lead with integrity and serve with strength. That is the standard.” The “Aimless scrolling [finding a show to watch] that trades real focus for distraction” is an area I need to be mindful of in the moment and proactively combat! How about you? Anything from this list (or something else) Holy Spirit is convicting you of (or has convicted you in the past that you’ve overcome)? #GM #Coffeechain #teachain #Wisdom #God #Jesus #Bible #Biblestr

Happy Thanksgiving to those in the States and celebrating abroad. As my family ages, I grow more and more sentimental towards these opportunities to connect. Else why would we drive 4 hours for a 30 minute meal, just to turn around and head back home with another 4 hour drive. It’s not for the food I tell ya! It’s for the people…the relationships. Regardless of our struggles, we must remember we are blessed and provided for by a God who loves us so much that in just a few short weeks we will be celebrating the birth of His son on Earth, Jesus. Thank you LORD for Your sacrifice for me, for us!

Good Morning Nostriches! I’m always “sur-pressed” (surprised + impressed) with how God aligns my reading of His word with what I need for the day 🤯 Without fail, whatever I’m struggling with, He always meets me where I am. The crazy part for me is I’m currently reading Romans verse by verse. So the probability in human mathematical terms of me randomly reading precisely what I need when I need it is variably improbable. Yet, here we are.. “What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He did not even spare His own Son but offered Him up for us all; how will He not also with Him grant us everything? Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? God is the One who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the One who died, but even more, has been raised; He also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us. Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: Because of You we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than victorious through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬-‭39‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/72/rom.8.31-39.HCSB Amen! #GM #Bible #Biblestr #Wisdom #Love

Good Morning Nostriches! (Trying to get back in the habit of being with my peeps early in the day) This passage jumped out at me as I was reading the Bible this morning. “For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly. For rarely will someone die for a just person — though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/72/rom.5.6-8.HCSB Specifically the phrase “Christ died for the ungodly”… There is so much hate in this world and one side blaming the other side. Even here on my beloved NOSTR I frequently see notes dogging those still on X or not yet as deep into Bitcoin as another. To think…Christ died for all those ungodlies 😉😇 But seriously; murderers, thiefs, tyrants, democrats AND republicans 🤣, homosexuals and heterosexuals, Jews and Gentiles… Christ died for us ALL so that we wouldn’t have to. God sent His only son to die not for “good” people, but for sinners becasue that’s what we all are. We have all fallen short of the glory of God. —- Makes me consider the amount I pray for believers vs the ungodly I know (or at large). I can do better at praying for the ungodly that they may come to know Christ, becasue that’s why He came, so that all may know the love of the Heavenly Father, God. P.S. most of us have family or friends that need Jesus, so we don’t have to look that far to begin prayer for the ungodly. #GM #Biblestr #Bible #Wisdom #Jesus #God #Love #Faith

Hello again lovely people… It’s been too long, so Good Morning! Man since April when my wife’s aunt passed, life has been a whirlwind. I always knew helping aging family was going to happen. I guess in my head I just didn’t know when or rather thought “in a few years”. But God oft has different plans and timelines for us! Truth be told I wouldn’t change the last several months. In fact I value the fact that I’ve had the available time to be of service to them. (The free BBQ lunches my uncle-in-law pays for helps too 🤣🥩♨️) Interestingly I found myself briefly on X this morning then like a slap upside the head I said “what am I doing?! There is better and more accurate news on NOSTR! So…here I am for a few minutes today. I’ll do better with my presence here…it’s merely that I truly try to live the Heirarchy of Relational Leadership: 1. God 2. Self 3. Family 4. Others This season has me in the first 3 tiers right now. 🙏 God bless and here’s to everyone’s best ☕️☕️ #GM #coffeechain

Ahem… Hello again 🤦🏻‍♂️🫣🤩 How much longer are you going to avoid what you are capable of doing so that you can continue to be comfortable with what you are doing? (I’m meditating on this today!)

Good Morning Nostriches! Thank you for your patience with my limited posting lately. As I’m sure many of you know, sometimes life gets a bit fuller than you desire, especially with aging family near by. I will say last week was my first time in a few decades of cutting down/up a fallen tree at my in-laws. It was fun to demonstrate proof of work with a gas powered chain saw! (I did forget how much it can make your hammies hurt through 🤦‍♂️) Daily life aside, I’ve been reading through the Samuels and Kings during my devotion time over the last few months. Kings is a little fuller read than Samuels but they are important nonetheless. If you haven’t read 1 or 2 Kings, it is basically a journal summary of how evil the Israelite kings had become. With few exceptions, they all worshiped Baal and other Canaanite gods. They defiled the Lord’s temple, mixing beliefs and sacrificing their own children (Irily not too dis-similar from what many Christians are doing less blatantly today) Until…we get to the end of 2 Kings and King Josiah. While cleaning and rebuilding the Lord’s Temple, one of Joshia’s men found The Book of The Law. Upon reading it Josiah repented for all his ancestor’s generational sins and asked God “what would you have me do?” The Lord replied with “burn it all down”… So Josiah did. He sent his men out to all the areas where any symbol, artifact, building, or person (mainly the priests of evil/other gods and the male cult prostitutes) and Joshia’s men not only burned everything, if there was a shred of it left…they beat and trampled it all until it was mere dust. And thus a new covanant was established between God and Israel (at that time). Now as onlookers in today’s society we might think Josiah took drastic measures and God Himself is mean or evil… But you see, God is just the opposite. He is so loving that when this covenant with Joshia later fell apart, God sent Jesus, His only Son to be the final blood sacrifice for the propitiation of sins. I won’t get into all the spiritual aspects of why it had to be a blood sacrifice. There is too much to dive into there… Let me end with this, for myself and for you. What evil in either symbols, artifacts, simple actions (such as burning insence or herbs) are we allowing to enter our homes and our children’s lives? I don’t believe legalism is the message of Christ but certainly “love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul” is… And if that is His primary message, what idolatry do we need to eradicate out of our lives?! God bless y’all #GM #Bible #Biblestr #Jesus #Love image
