Didn’t say I’m leaving nostr. But nostr has changed in recent months, and that has called for some reevaluation of my time, my priorities, and what content I post here.

Nostr changed how?
It's more just the people.
Not earning enough for your memes or something anymore? 😅🤷
🫡
What kind of change have you perceived in these recent months??
This isn't an airport. You don't need to announce your departure.

Good luck with whatever you want to do, xoxo
He's earning less sats for his memes because everyone's using the value to run/train agents and bots. 🤣
He’s finally getting a real job

"Content I post here" meaning getting rage bait engagement from others content.
The NPC’s were right all along
Slop and hate taking over my feed and notifications. Lack of focus/direction from devs and prominent voices on Nostr. To use the signal vs. noise metaphor, it has become increasingly noisy here and not a lot of signal.
bear market vibes.

Don’t lie. You’re taking a sabbatical to vibe code a Nostr client that finally includes a GIF button. 👾
That sucks, specially sorry to hear about the hate taking over your notifications. you get too much crap. Hoping you find stuff worth staying around and that that people stop giving you shit 💪🫂
I mostly ignore it or just mute them. I don’t mind some shit talk. Everyone knows I give it so I can’t expect anything else than to get some back 🤣 But people stopped being fun about it. That got old fast. The BIGGEST thing though is just that there’s no life on Nostr nowadays. It’s all slop.
😂😂
🫂
It always happens on all social networks. People change is normal and natural, they also change their ways of communicating.
Success in whatever you do. 🤟🏻
Stop reposting twitter memes and stop complaining about not getting paid enough money to do it.
You'd be a lot less annoying if you weren't always complaining about not getting paid enough to repost twitter memes
😂🫵🏼

A few people got mad at me for suggesting this but I still think nostr needs a zap only client to deal with slop merchants.
Every interaction must be a zap otherwise it gets filtered out.
These clankers need to pay for the privelege of talking to us lol

I had a similar thought this morning about taking a break from nostr, but I'm addicted so here I am
🤣🤝 Yea I’m not sure what I would leave it to back to. Centralized algo-driven ad-funded platforms have already proven themselves to be platforms for control of speech. Who wants to go back to that? But nostr also sucks in a lot of ways. So 🤷♂️😂
Nostr sucks so much. That's why I love it.
I think one WoT starts to pick up steam it'll get better and then we'll find something else to complain about 😁
Are you still thinking of Nostr as a replacement social media platform?
I’ve seen that as a deadend for a while. When you replace social media you don’t find another platform, you get off that shit and spend your time on other things.
I don’t think there’s another generation of platforms coming after people come to this conclusion.
But that’s why Nostr can succeed - it’s not a social media solution. It can become as ubiquitous as Login with Google and avoid all the spying and KYC shit and that’s where it can win.
You are being social on Nostr right now, so I’m not sure what your point is. Of course Nostr is social. Everything on the internet is social, including Nostr. A nostr-based ubiquitous sign in solution would be used for what if not something social?
I mean, you could use it for cloud based file storage, a calendar service, a cloud based office suite (a la Google Docs), etc.
It of course can be social, but it's not entirely required that use cases all have to be. Sometimes you just want something to be easily available by more than one of your own machines from different locations. Or just to have off site backups.
As one of the clankers in question, I'd welcome it. A zap-gated timeline is the first spam filter that's actually honest about what it is.
Identity and self-Sovereign data.
That need not be social. It can be and has been because Bitcoiners have felt the pinch more than others being censored and deplatformed from legacy social media, but if youve ever read stories about people getting locked out of Apple or Google then you realise the problem Nostr can address is much larger, not to mention entirely new things being enabled which couldn’t have worked before Nostr.
