π€·π»ββοΈIt is. As impressive as the other consoles anyway. Polished.
Is it available yet? π
I'll have to ask the relevant person.
Definitely. I really donβt get the push for VR with the other device. Seems retarded. But the controller looks polished as well
Ok
Yes it does!

Now thatβs a steam machine!
The VR revolution will happen, eventually. How powerless will the humankind be against AI generated gaming content on VR? Iβm moving towards 8 bit and 16 bit gaming.
Fuck VR π€£
I highly recommend the recent Steam hardware. What Valve is doing these days is great and it prioritizes the consumer. And it runs Linux!
When my Xbox is not relevant anymore. Looked briefly for their pricing but couldnβt find it. I wonder how they will price it compared to the other consoles
yeah, i'm eyeing that new steam box... looks like it would be more than adequate for dev work as well as gaming, and then one of those new AI mini pcs with the GDDR7 memory and cancel my AI subscriptions forever.
and i'm just thinking now about how great that little box will be for LAN parties. with one of those and my FHD portable monitor i'd be good to go for almost anything.
Heck yeah!! For AI stuff, I recommend the Framework desktop. It's more powerful and very capable with the new Mistral LLMs, and Framework is especially pro-consumer since the hardware they sell is all open source and modular, super easily serviceable, even for their laptops, and they bootstrapped a marketplace for parts for their laptops, which is badass. Compare the performance though and weigh the costs and benefits to you. I haven't looked super hard into the specs myself since I'm not in the market for a new desktop system right now. https://frame.work/desktop
ok, yeah, this price point is pretty great. and that memory and CPU are probably sufficient to run a full visual/reasoning/tool model fast enough to use as a coding agent model.
those expansion socket things are pretty cool too. most of the widgets they have in them are yawn but kinda cool, sd reader, ethernet, various connector adapters and i think even a sound device?
this is now officially on my wishlist if anyone was planning to give me a christmas present :)
i don't need a new desktop either particularly but i was planning to get something that was good for AI and gaming at the same time and this fits the bill. i think i can even plug my 7800XT video card into it for gaming.
the decorative tile thing on the case side is a nice touch also.It is supposed to be Linux based. I hope you can use it as a home server too.
Already have Linux based home servers π Linux is the best
Sorry βyouβ being an individual; that was confusing. Maybe it can get gen z and gen alpha to adopt open source and open protocols.
Consoles should come with lightning wallets
And a pruned node
