I wish they had broadcasted sooner, but I think in a very human way they were completely blindsided and honestly probably stuck in a state of disbelief/denial. In the kubler Ross stages of grief Matt seemed like he had progressed to anger while Marty seemed possibly stuck in denial. I thought they held themselves to account well. They didn’t make a single excuse and they are certainly more apologetic and contrite than nvk or anyone at coinkite. At the end of the day they are podcasters, not tech wizards or experts. I know both of them through the years and I know they are good men who feel absolutely horrible about their hand in all this. I think we’re all human and it’s very very difficult to be perfect in a situation like this. I myself heard about it very early in the morning and denied it was happening at first. It couldn’t be true I thought. It had to be something else. It could not possibly be that the entropy generation was bad. Could it? We now know it was. I trusted my gut and called @Rob Hamilton after about 30-45 mins of thinking about it at the gym and realizing something wasn’t right. Rob dug into it immediately and told me a few hours later there was indeed a serious issue. That’s when I began raising the alarm here on nostr. Should I have acted sooner? Yes. Probably by almost an hour. But I am human and I was stuck in denial at first. I extend the same grace to Matt and Marty. This is one of the worst moments of their careers and so many things they believed came tumbling down at once. It would be hard to do exactly the right things in that scenario. That said the audience members who lost coins are the actual victims of course not Matt and Marty. So it’s just… idk man it’s an incredibly sad situation I think because most people were good people trying to do the right things. It’s seriously a tragedy of epic proportions. Hard to find the right words to say about any of it.

This is FUD - @MartyBent posted a podcast on @TFTC and @ODELL reposted it the next day. They’ve been all hands on deck helping family and friends. - What have you been doing besides smearing their names @mobiusmoe? Touch grass
Anyone who followed Odell's advice "buy a coldcard, do not use dice to generate your own seed phrase" lost their stack.
Sure, it's their fault for taking advice from Odell, but shifting the blame to customers doesn't make him less responsible.

All this is true, and I am sympathetic to the human situation, including Marty and Odell who i believe mean well, but 5 days? Ten's of millions more stolen? All I am saying is they could have at least reflect and acknowledge the delay was a a mistake and reconcile they could have saved more people from serious harm.
I'll admit I waited 5 minutes before calling the one person i had mentioned coldcard to, but if they had been wrecked in that 5 minutes I would also have the courage and self respect to say "I should have called you sooner".
What you did, which lead to npub1emdtsxly9m68m00x206t574jttp65vk0c2m89ms038q047yz7ylqcac9aw riding into battle is what got the message to me via some random podcast I listened to, I thank you for that.
But yes, I am pissed off at the 5 day delay in that very specific set of circumstances (years promoting coldcard down huge media channels, personally benefiting from the sale of those colcards, 5 days of no message to audiences of 2 huge channels)
Interesting that you're running defense for them, after you've gaslit me and muted me and joined in ostracizing me

Amazing that somehow sticking with Ledger all these years finally seems to have been the right move for ol' Pedro... Who could've predicted that one?!
