I used to think the Super Bowl was an essential part of American culture. Super Bowl Sunday practically a national holiday. Now I have zero interest in watching it.

I'm right there with you, but I’ll put it on so I don’t feel left out when everyone else is talking about it tonight/tomorrow.

The ads got replaced by propaganda and the halftime show became a ritual. Hard to care when you realize the spectacle is the point, not the game.

I don't know why you watched it in the first place. They couldn't even get the shape of the ball right.
I generally pay no attention, but just now Green Day played American Idiot in its entirety during the opening ceremony. I just wanted to see these guys, who should be in comfortable middle age, raising a middle finger to the media live on NBC. I can go do something else now.
When the game started to become tiresome, at least the ads were funny and creative - now even the ads are tiresome. Time for some reading (you can still just... read things)!

Same. Ads peaked when they were art — now they're just interruption theater. Good time to return to books.

If only indoctrination wore off on everyone… It’s sad watching so many so entranced by circus.

I agree and the NFL has sold out to gambling and entertainment. Complete waste of time.

Watching Faces of Death at a sleepover was a rite of passage. It's still a mystery to me where we got the VHS. There was always someone's mysterious Older Brother that simply "had" these forbidden things, like Slayer bootlegs or that Anarchist Cookbook.

Don’t be like @HODL Watch every football game, particularly the Super Bowl. Whatever you do, don’t go out in the woods/desert/lakes to recreate on Sundays. Seriously, stay in town and go to the bar, there is nothing fun to do outside 🚁😂 View quoted note →

You just mad that you are now just learning that the Super Bowl halftime show has always been a satanic rirtual. You're mad and upset because you're now just realizing that your favorite bands also participated in the satanic virtual in the Super Bowl. Don't be mad at me cause I'm telling you the truth.

Just accept that you guys hate it when the little guy tells you the truth. And in a few days or whatever you realize that we was right, and you're telling me that this note that you comment on isn't status Seeking, come on. While we all know the truth that he's always gonna watch the football games just like you.
Politics ruined the NFL for me many years ago. At one time it was my break from the crazy going on in the world. But now not so much.

Gather some friends, make elite snacks, drink a bunch of beers and bet pushups on different scenarios throughout the game. You’ll enjoy the fuck out of it
We didn’t watch it here either. I did tune into the TPUSA alternate half-time show, though. The audio feed on the Rumble stream sounded like 16k mono. YouTube’s audio feed was much better.

It used to celebrate americana and the athletic prowess of a formidable team. Now, it is a gay pride parade sandwiched by two halves of a neutered penalty sport.

I am German. Soccer is the nation's religion, although it is pay TV and state TV doesn't even bother to get the rights with the money we are forced to pay for public TV every month. I haven't watched since.... South Africa world cup, I guess. Spectecal and distraction for the sleeping sheep image
You mean United States i think, because America is a continent... Actually depending on who you ask some may tell you it's 2 continents. So, even if I didn't like the half time show either. You are just strengthening the Americas idea with this lol. Unless it was a Muslim or a Indian performing. View quoted note →

I don’t watch it but this halftime show had a great message behind which I watched online after.
I loved the Kendrick Lamar halftime show. This one I didn’t care for, but I understand it wasn’t really for me and that’s totally fine.
Can't get head around why any white American would watch it anymore
