What prevent the scalpers to create 100 nostr accounts, buy one ticket with each one of them, then resell the tickets with the resell option. Or even sell the nostr account private key that hold the ticket. You could use some web of trust or enforce old enough account only but then you will just exclude every non-nostr users which will already be annoyed to create an account and a Bitcoin wallet and buy Bitcoin just to buy your ticket. Great idea but there is still a lot to solve to make it usable at scale.
THIS IS HUGE! Wavlake not only trying to fix the problems plaguing streaming and distribution markets but going into the live market, with ticket sales built on open standards, aiming to reduce price gouging and resales 👏 Bullish on the Wavlake team and future of music! 🙌 LFG 🚀
All good points, and totally worth figuring out for the benefit of both buyers and sellers. All the primitives to make this work are available.
Yes we considered this. Ultimately we decided it was overly complex for what we needed to build
very cool! I'll try it out for some event I'll organize. I was thinking a sort of proto ticketing system with transferability could be just an instance of a cashu mint, disconnected from lightning or other mints. then a 1sat note could be the ticket. it could be exchanged for a new note easily in case of resale to prevent fraud. I was thinking integrating it with btcpayserver somehow. or if the ticket has a fixed price you could actually mint it yourself over lightning, but can't transfer out. View quoted note →
