Having lived in Venezuela under Chavez, I know how this ends. And it’s deeply saddening to know that what I witnessed firsthand there is likely coming to the city I call home. That said, I feel for the desperate people who think this candidate will make things better for them. Most don’t know better and just want their pain to end. I can sympathize with that. I don’t blame these people. I blame the fiat system, as it creates this type of pain by siphoning wealth away from everyday people. Most of these people don’t have the headspace to understand that #Bitcoin is an antidote to that system, but I believe that, in time, they will. Until then, candidates like this will propose and maybe even try to execute on “solutions” that history has shown to be ineffective at best and utterly destructive at worst.
