Tonight, my wife @Mishroom ๐ said something profound that I had to share:
โFor all the lack of trust you have in the government and corporations, you bitcoiners really have a lot of faith in each other.โ

Because I think itโs more one on one people are good. Its just the system that is bad. One by one I think a lot of good people work also at the government and cooperations ๐
I wanna say yes, but the whole point is for a trustless money. We don't have to believe in each other because we understand the economics and it's in our best interest to participate and support the network. There are probably some bitcoiners I would hate in person, but I don't have to like them for Bitcoin to exist or work. #bitcoin #nostr
Well said @Mishroom ๐
I don't. Don't trust; verify.
Accurate. The Bitcoin and Nostrich bond is strong.
Well said.
Base ethos is key ๐
Love this.
Sleep with one eye open
Faith is a human construct meant to soothe those who do not or can not trust others. That is the whole point of Bitcoin. Faith is not required.

I think we do have faith in each other. Thatโs the #V4V model. Zap what you feel something is worth to you, but in value that will be worth more in the future, as long as we never give up.
Yes and no.
"People are wonderful. I love individuals. I hate groups of people. I hate a group of people with a 'common purpose'. 'Cause pretty soon they have little hats. And armbands. And fight songs. And a list of people they're going to visit at 3am."
"Avoid teams at all cost. Keep your circle small. Never join a group that has a name. If they say, 'We're the So-and-Sos,' take a walk. I don't like ass kissers, flag wavers or team players. I like people who buck the system. Individualists."
"Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."
-George Carlin
For context, this was about #V4V, not blind groupthink. We can have faith in each other as individuals and still not all agree on most other issues and still get along because we share a common bond.
We do believe in each other and it is amazing ๐คฉ
Proof of work
You don't have to love your enemies, but Bitcoin lets you trade with them.
"Bitcoin: The currency of enemies"
I don't trust government or institutions because they've proven to not be trustworthy. A lot and severely.
I love that. ๐ซ
Came here to say this. We donโt have faith in each other, we have a mutual understanding of a protocol that incentivizes cooperation.
Most of us on Nostr are here because non of us trust or like the government at all. (A common denominator here).
๐
unfortunately this will change when more people use bitcoin and nostr ๐

...except for the government spooks here posing as nostriches.
I was just talking to a friend about how communitarian bitcoiners are and how zaps are mostly used for a gifting economy.
Itโs almost like labels donโt work on us.
You mean the future fifth columnists?
Beautiful. And true.
Awww, I love this ๐

How am I just following your wife today??? So excited now
She doesnโt post much. Sheโs just here to lurk and occasionally reply when people say scientifically inaccurate things about fungi. ๐โ๐ซ๐
Well itโs nice to meet her regardless ๐
Had to follow her for that.
I followed because her name was Mishroom
Cool af name tbh
People that show their proof of work are easier to trust.
