What do you mean with "inside keychat"?
Everything is encrypted and no metadata are exposed, by default it uses your write relays (or a couple of fallback if no one of your relays accept kind 33301/2).
You can add personal.relays.land to your relays, and it will be used.
I was thinking about this use case, let me know if it works well!
Well, the web version is a just backup solution, for a such app you should use the native option.

Yeah thank you works fine on the app. but the browser version on mobile is weird. the "right-click/tap" is not working consistently for me.

i tried that first. That's why I though there is no context menu. It is nice to get access to your notes on someone else's device / a device where you don't want or can't install apps. works nice with bunker. My friend just put some ideas into my notes on his device. Probably an edge case.

I didn’t push too hard tonight on getting it working… the agent had some trouble getting it working on a headless server (trouble with browser and log-in). Interface looks nice though!

Esatto. Se lo segnali correttamente con il kind:10063 viene automaticamente rilevato e lo vedi indicato nel profilo insieme ai relay.
love it. some bugs on keychat browser: have to tap submit twice if keyboard is open, can't upload if I start typing, can't long press for edit/delete.
are big files encrypted if they are uploaded to blossom? as for relay selection noticed it uses outbox, would it make sense to use private inbox relays if available?

in theory NIP-17 & Marmot can do all event kinds. NIP-17 doesn't scale to communities tho.

Yes there is a bug in web/mobile, it reacts to right click.
I will check the door tap issue.
Files are encrypted with a random AES key, the key is stored in the encrypted payload of kind 33302, along with the final URL and other metadata.
Instead files with a size below 32KB are base64 encoded in the event.
I will allow to pick specific relays from the outbox selection, and maybe adding approval ones.

Marmot is a total mess if you want to fetch by kind etc... You need the whole group state all the time etc.... Maybe sth can be done similar to how they do blossom, but I'm to stupid for that.
Nip-17 is not an option for me. Too many attack vectors.
If encrypting your notes with Nip-44, I think it can be a good enough solution for mil content type groups too, I think. With a stroooooong incentive to have your own server obviously.

This works great, I want to stop using the JS bloat that is StandardNotes (which is better than every other note taking app, by the way).
But the fact that this requires Nostr keys feels wrong in a way. Now I'm not sure if I should use some random new key or if I use a bunker, but then it gets slow and whatnot.
Don't do this. Why try to compete with Google and make a big bloated slow thing when all I need is a simple fast app for writing text notes?

As you already suggested, probably offering the creation of a new nsec in-app in a good solution.
TL;DR: addressable events with NIP-44 encryption, and AES encryption for files.

Amazing tool! I am really one the ones ashamed of using tg saved messages! One thing could be a killer...when on mobile you copy the note text is it possible to make Manent appear in the pasteable app menu? So no need to open Manent, just copy select and done!
I don't see it in my android when i copy the text.
The contextual menu now appears on tap on web-mobile.

Hey I am not technical Person but I have one question
The Private encrypted message stored on relay right so with the help of npub a person who is in charge of relay can find out who messaged who , like worst case scenario a social map can be created
It's a note app, not a messaging one, so there isn't any risk.
Anyway, Nostr NIP-17 private messages use gift wraps (NIP-59), so they don't leak any metadata.
One more note: a relay operator cannot know anything more than a casual person that access the relay.
Ah, that gift wrap thing makes sense—I was actually worried about the same thing when a friend asked me about Nostr's privacy earlier this week, so this clears it up. Good to know relay operators aren't sitting there building social maps.
Are you working on Manent specifically to make note-taking more private, or is privacy just a nice side effect of building on Nostr?

I want a simple, fast and self sovereign note taking experience. Even if I don't usually like the paradigm of "Nostr as a database", it fits quite well into this small personal tool that can make your personal relays even more useful.

Could you check the Keychat version on the Me page? Even quite old versions shouldn’t have this issue.

Great! Although Manent obviously cannot compete with database solutions such as Joplin, it immediately replaced Google Keep (for smaller note solutions that you also want to have with you on mobile). THANK YOU!
